Woah there, just be glad that during the bull market, we diligently saved up as a nation and have a nice rainy-day fund for any recession. Can you imagine how much sh*t we'd be in if we gave that money away during times of prosperity to the top earners through tax breaks?Ibanez wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 11:47 am If there's $1.5T to calm investors, why isn't there $1.5T to erase student debt. Do you know how many people are putting off financial purchases (home, car, vacation, weddings) b/c they have student loans? I agree - if you take a loan you should repay. But that doesn't really matter now that we've injected so much money into a system that rewards risk taking? Food for thought. Discuss.

You're funny; and it's sad but true.
It's the same ol' crapola. The GOP runs out the clock, and blames everyone but themselves when the shiite hits the fan. Instead of a soft-landing, we crash and burn.
The latest economic disaster started last Spring -- Covid-19 only exasperates it.

So now it's socialism to be forced to give money to the government, and then get it back in dribs and drabs?houndawg wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:46 amwe don't care what you call it.ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 9:44 am It's our fuckig money doo doo head

It was probably something similar. I was against bailouts in '08. I'm against bailouts in '20. Neither have ANYTHING to do with student loan debt. Which I'm also against a bailout on.

Re: Fed to inject $1.5 TRILLION into the economy
Oh I agree. I was merely asking a question to start a conversation.
I would LOVE a student loan bailout but I honor my debts and don't expect a hand out. Honestly, anyone that says they wouldn't love if a loan of theirs was suddenly forgiven is lying. If someone came to me and said they were paying off my mortgage, i'd take it in a heart beat. An extra $1.2K a month would be glorious.

Very much so. Works best if you use it with some modifiers - like libtard, or urban...
