I'm sure it's still deflated, but it's much easier for a big-brother type of state to contain a virus than the US or Europe. They had an interview with some Chinese people on NPR this morning: "Oh we're used to lock downs, but it's nice finally seeing life get back to normal."
edit: One guy interviewed said everyday, his temperature was taken by soldiers leaving his apt. building, at a midway check-post walking to work, another time when he entered his office, and vice-versa. One person, SIX times, against their will, every...single...day.
Can you imagine that being implemented here?

Re: Coronavirus
Pretty soon we should start getting indictions of whether it's seasonal or not. I have some hope for that due to Fauci saying what he said on the video at https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/4 ... e-cyclical.
The bad news if what he hypothesized turns out to be the case is that it might tamp down then ramp back up next fall. The good news, to me, is that we can get a break during which we can become much better prepared, maybe at least finish trials on drugs that can be used to alleviate the symptoms, reduce probability of severe consequences etc.
Might also give us time to do some scientific sampling of the population for antibodies to get an idea of what the infection rate really was. That would be really useful to public health people.
I hope it's the case. It would probably help Trump and that's bad because he totally bungled this yet he'll come out smelling like a rose. But it'd still be good.

Yeah, thats gonna suck for football season after it dies down in the summer and flares back up in the fall. “Rhode Island hunting down New Yorkers seeking coronavirus refuge
Any New Yorkers in there?
Rhode Island plans to send the National Guard out to knock door-to-door in an attempt to hunt down anyone who has arrived in the tiny state from New York City during the coronavirus pandemic. State police, meanwhile, have begun pulling over cars with New York state plates.
Gov. Gina Raimondo said anyone traveling there from New York will be ordered to undergo a 14-day quarantine and could face fines or even jail time if they’re found to not comply.
“Right now we have a pinpointed risk,” Raimondo said at a news conference Friday. “That risk is called New York City.”
Rhode Island, which had some 162 confirmed cases by late Friday compared to New York State’s total of more than 44,000, joined a host of other municipalities and states trying bar entry to New Yorkers living in the epicenter of the US’ coronavirus outbreak.
The Hamptons, counties north of the city, and governors in Florida, Maryland, Texas and South Carolina have all also ordered New Yorkers to keep out or undergo mandatory two-week quarantines....”

Even adjacent provinces don't want people potentially leaving the Wuhan area:
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news ... -epicenterViolent clashes erupted along the border of Hubei, China, between two provincial police groups and the people of the area most affected by the coronavirus.
The confrontation happened Friday on the Yangtze River Bridge, which separates citizens from Huangmei County in Hubei province and the city of Jiujiang in Jiangxi, after a police officer attempted to block persons from Hubei from boarding a bus taking them to the Jiujiang railway station.

The sick pet in Liège tested positive after showing classic symptoms of COVID-19 — including difficulty breathing — a week after its owner first fell sick, health officials told a press conference, the Brussels Times reports.
