Yeah, I just caught the highlights last night and it sounded like the stadium erupted when Howard went deep.
I also heard Phillies chants during the game. At times it sounded like they were playing in Philly.

The only thing missing was the laser pointer.

You saw the reasons last night.

2 errors, bases loaded, no outs, no score...young team with injuries that is still learning how to win.

Dbacks having shitty year, bandwagon Phillies fans coming out of the woodwork, plus the hundreds of thousands of Philly area people that think Philly is a shitty area to live in, move to Arizona for a better life, but still cling to cheering for their shitty town's teams.

That sounds familiar. I think half of the population in this area migrated from somewhere near the I-95 corridor. Boston and New York fans invade the Trop in droves everytime the Sox or Yanks are in town.

My sister-in-law moved from Chester County PA to Pinellas Park FL a few years ago. We've visted a few times, it's a nice area. I don't blame people for moving.

Not just shitty philly bandwagoners, but Yanmees, RedCox, Mutts - all a bunch of a-holes who proclaim (as long as their team is winning) how great Philly/NY/Boston is, and how much Phoenix teams suck, but enjoy living in Arizona and will never return back east.

Well, gosh darnit 86 - next time the family ventures back to Pinellas County you'll have shoot me a note. I'd be honored to buy you a beer at one of the many fine establishments in the area which will, inevitably, feature some schmuck with a guitar playing Jimmy Buffett tunes.

I'll let you know the next time we're down there. We may be down at Thanksgiving, but that is still up in the air.

Probably because they can't make a proper cheese steak out there... you forget how good they really are in Philly until you actually get back there. My fiance had her first one this past weekend and was almost convinced that we should move back there for good after I graduate... until she met some of the locals  . She never believed me that the cheese steaks she had before in DC or down south could be that much different...

Not me. Too fuggin' hot out there. Phoenix is just LA without a movie industry. Whoever doesn't mind the 113-degree "dry heat" is just spouting bullshat.

Well, Jon, I spent much of my young adulthood at the Delaware beaches, including Rehoboth. Rehoboth is actually a great town, IMHO, with lots of good bars, restaurants, a boardwalk and plenty of beachy things to do. It is also a very popular vacation destination for the gay crowd and even offers a stretch of beach that is used primarily by same sex couples. If you add all that in with the oppotunity to see migratory shore birds, and I think it is a place that you might enjoy. ;)

Delaware has some nice beaches. Sussex and Kent counties are nice places to live. New Castle county was too crowded for me.

That's how I feel about New Haven CT pizza. When I first moved to Delaware I couldn't eat the pizza because it tasted so bad by comparison. I've adapted, but I still say there is no pizza better than Pepe's or Sallie's.

I miss Tastykakes!!!!!!

Hell, I didn't actually live in Philly. I lived 22 miles away in S Jersey farm country. A whole other world really. But I have been and always will be a Philly sports fan.

Phillies interested in Cliff Lee as number two option if they cannot get Roy Halladay... which doesn't seem like it's going to happen. Blue Jays already turned down the deal with J.A.Happ and a minor league OF... and I don't think the phils are willing to give up Drabek.
The Phillies are intent on getting a front-line starting pitcher, whether they get Roy Halladay or not, and with the Indians' Cliff Lee seemingly lined up as the clear No. 2 choice for Philadelphia, officials with both teams are doing extensive background work on some minor leaguers who might be included in a trade, sources said on Tuesday.

The Indians' preference has been to get a major league-ready talent in return for Lee, in order to better position themselves to contend in 2010, and Kyle Drabek is the pitcher in the Phillies' organization who best fits that description. But the Phillies have been trying to make a Halladay deal without involving Drabek, and presumably, they'd be even more reluctant to trade Drabek for Lee.

The Indians, then, are evaluating the Phillies' farm system to see if they can fashion a deal with high-ceiling young talent -- which is why they're scouting Jason Knapp, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound pitcher who was the Phillies' second-round pick in 2008. Knapp was recently shut down because of shoulder fatigue, but he had shown enormous potential, striking out 111 in 85 1/3 innings while pitching in Class A and accumulating a 4.01 ERA.

One official familiar with the negotiations believes that the Phillies have enough high-end young pitching talent to build a deal for Lee without involving Drabek. The Indians are stocked with young position players but lack high-end pitching talent in their farm system.

Woooooooosh! Great trade in my book! Keep Happ, Drabek and the other "Untouchables"
The Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians agreed to a trade that would bring Cliff Lee to the NL East leaders along with outfielder Ben Francisco for four minor leaguers, according to major league sources.

Triple-A right-hander Carlos Carrasco, Class A righty Jason Knapp, catcher Lou Marson -- the likely heir apparent to Victor Martinez -- and shortstop Jason Donald will be sent to Cleveland.

The trade is pending physical exams.

The Phillies weren't required to give up pitcher J.A. Happ or the three prospects they balked at trading for Roy Halladay -- outfielders Dominic Brown and Michael Taylor, and pitcher Kyle Drabek.

Lee, the 2008 AL Cy Young winner who turns 31 next month, is having another solid season for the Indians, posting a 3.14 ERA while walking just 33 in 152 innings. He will make $8 million in 2010 and then be eligible for free agency.

So where does the rotation go from here?

Does it consist of Hamels, Lee, Happ, Martinez and Blanton? What happens when Brett Meyers comes back? Does Moyer go to the bull pen?

Great trade for the Phillies! They get to keep Happ and their top three prospects and get last years AL Cy Young award winner in return. The Phillies sure do love teir lefties though, don't they?

Hamels, Happ, Lee, Moyer

Utley, Howard, Ibanez

I actually don't like the idea of four lefties in the rotation - hopefully Pedro can be effective enough to replace Moyer.
