He’s an ordained minister who has taught Sunday school and donates to a number of charities.
Before anyone gets too impressed he's an ordained minister from this church https://www.themonastery.org/

This church has other notable ordained ministers including Joe Exotic, Glenn Beck, Vermin Supreme, Vanilla Ice, and Conan O'Brien.
Universal Life Church is full of whackjobs. The New York Times Sunday wedding section used to feature ceremonies for bored rich kids that were officiated by ULC “ministers.”

^^^ That right there is an interesting one

One of my best friends in high school was a southpaw pitcher. After graduation, he went to a baseball mill JUCO in Texas. He got hit in the head with a line drive and had to have brain surgery for a hematoma. After recovery, he transferred to a SoCon school and one day on the mound had an epiphany.

He left that school an transferred to an evangelical university in VA. He became an ordained minister and is a full-on Calvinist. He’s a public school administrator during the week.

A couple years he an I met back in NC with another mutual friend and classmate for lunch. During our conversation, our mutual friend (who is also an evangelical) asked my buddy, “What do you do about gays in school or in church?”

My friend replied, “I love em.”

that's the age of epiphany (the college years)
I had a few in that time of my life

1) came to me shortly after a difficult hurtful break-up
the epiphany was about truly loving admiring and ultimately respecting the opposite sex (absolute game-changer moment)
2) came to me while long hauling concrete from Billings MT to Libby MT
the epiphany was about how the world measures intelligence and I'd better make some changes

two life-changing moments
and everything trended up after those in their respective categories

It's sad you had to wait until college to find out you respect the opposite sex.

Most of us are taught that when we are 3 or 4

So does this makes masks bad again? I can't keep track of how many times the "experts" have flip flopped on this.

Really bad analogy.

Public health vs discrimination.

Closer to "No shirt, no shoes, no service" imo.

Orly?

Private businesses should be able to deny service to anyone who does not follow their terms of service - whether it is refusing to wear a mask or requesting a cake for a gay wedding

The woman castigating the store clerk for violating her “civil rights” would probably agree with you that it is different, ironically

I don't disagree on the gay wedding cakes.

Discrimination by sexual orientation is legal because it wasn't included in the Civil Rights Act. I think it should be updated, but it's not.

There is a huge difference between requiring a mask vs discrimination based on race/sexual orientation/gender.

You can put on a mask, and take it off. No harm, no foul. You can't change your gender/race/sexual orientation. This are actually pretty insulting comparisons. And of course it is easy for straight, white males that have never been discriminated against to pontificate about discrimination.
