The Rays just wrapped up a three game sweep of the Yankmees in the Bronx to take over first place in the division.
The Yanks are now 1 - 6 against the Rays on the season.
15 - 3 against everybody else.
13-1 against everybody but the Rays and the Phillies.
Actually, 14 - 1 (The Phils took 2 of 3 against them)
That's unreal.

I thought the Phils were 2-2 against the Yanks, splitting two two-game series. I could be wrong. Anyway, it beats our sorry-assed record against Ballmer and Miami.

Another new low for the Phillies. Drop 2 to the Jays and blow late leads both times.

Just when you think they can't suck anymore, they always prove that "yes, they can". Amazingly, as bad as the Phillies are, they are only 3 games out of first place in the NL East. It's a truly awful division this year.

I hope they don't finish with 40 losses.

Phillies continue to suck massively. Nola, who dominated the Braves in his last start against them, got shelled in an 11-2 loss last night. Phils now 1-5 on the road.

Another day, another big lead blown by the worst bullpen in baseball.

No baseball at Miller Park tonight
link
The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds won't play their game Wednesday night at Miller Park in protest of the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.

Nothing terribly sexy about the Rays, the just keep winning.
Interesting stat - tonight the Rays had their 14th different pitcher get a win and their 11th different pitcher get a save. This at 32 games into the season.

What’s the under on finishing this godforsaken, asterisk-ridden season?

Don't think those were covid related - Think those were for the most part because of the same reason the other sports suspended for a day or two.

Doesn’t matter whether it’s Covid, or accumulated nights off due to “protests” and need for makeup 7-inning doubleheaders, or menstrual cramps.

The Phillies have won five in a row? They are trying to trick me into paying attention again.

At this rate, they may be over .500 by tomorrow.

Tigers are back to .500 after a sweep of the Twins. That's three series wins in a row over Cleveland, the Cubs and Minnesota. They even have a player or two who might bring some value at the trade deadline.

Every player in the Braves lineup reaches base on the Phillies in the 2nd inning tonight
You don't see that every day.

Hey, we’ve clawed back to 11-8 from 10-0. Still 3 at-bats to go!

The Tigers trade Cameron Maybin (for the 3rd time) to the Cubs for an infield prospect. I like Maybin, hopefully he can give the team a boost. Maybin has now changed teams 12 times in his 14 seasons, including 3 stints with Detroit and 2 with the Marlins. A journeyman who's salary has been over $38 million for the 14 seasons.

The Phillies get a solid outing from the rookie, Howard, and score just enough runs for relievers to hold. With some bullpen help on the way, there is some reason for optimism.
