One reason he exceeded expectations is because that stuff the Republicans have been putting out about him having dementia is nonsense. I think I posted before that they were setting themselves up for failure by doing that because he clearly does not have dementia and that would become evident as the campaign continues and people can see that the narrative the Republicans have been trying to peddle if false.
Yes he was reading a teleprompter. But have you seen Trump trying to read a teleprompter? I mean really. You are going to try to say that BIDEN has a problem when you've got TRUMP as your candidate? Good luck having Trump carry off what Biden carried off last night.
Again, there's a reason he's hiding in the basement, not doing press conferences, interviews, taking anything more than softball, pre arranged questions from liberal media. If you think because he read probably the shortest acceptance speech ever, off a teleprompter, that he undoubtedly practiced countless times, without major flubs, is proof that he isn't in cognitive decline then
. But I'm glad you and most of the rest of the left think that, which will = more pressure on him being allowed to come out of the basement to do interviews, press conferences, and the debates. But his handlers aren't dumb. I don't think they will allow it.
You're still buying it. Look, what he did is not easy. I know what dementia looks like. My father withered away from it. He does not have dementia. If he had dementia, believe me, having practiced a bunch of times and using a teleprompter would not have mattered. It would have been evident. And it wouldn't have been a little misstep here and a little misstep there. He could not have carried that off at ALL.
He has been doing interviews. In fact, the reason I've been saying he doesn't have dementia is because I looked up some interviews he did, watched them, and saw that he did fine interacting and responding to questions. He'll do fine in the debates because he has far greater depth of knowledge about the issues that will come up than Trump does.
That's not to say he won't make ANY mistakes. He had a few minor missteps last night. Like one time he said "There's never been anything we've been able to accomplish when we do it together." Obviously that should've been something like "There's never been anything we couldn't accomplish...." But I think fair minded people know that things like that happen.
People will see him function and, as I said, the Trump gang's decision to try to cast him as having dementia is going to continue to backfire because it's going to continue to be obvious that that's nonsense.
