The majority of people in this country do not want Trump. Our system gives him a chance as it did last time. The COVID-19 situation in which intelligent people want to vote by mail , while idiots who think it's a hoax and tend to support Trump do not, increase his chances. But make no mistake: Trump is not and will not be the choice of "The People."Winterborn wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 7:48 pmTry driving the back roads of the upper Great Plains. Similar on the way back this past week. Saw literally 100+ places with Trump signs/flags, and ONE place with a Biden flag (one off the beach) in St Augustine Beach. Also several dozen Trump bumper stickers, only a couple of Biden. If yard signs/flags are any indication, Trump will win in a landslide.
Let's hope he's not the choice at all because him being President is very bad for this country.

Sounds racists.
Or do you mean certain Native American tribes? I believe there were several of them that their name for themselves translated into "The People". I honestly haven't checked lately what their voting patterns are so you could be right in that regards.

That's above my paygrade, you should check with Joe and Ivy to see about establishing the sovereignty of your lands. You might be able to change your last name to Fighting Hawk and file suit against Grand Forks Community College to raise funds.Winterborn wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 8:10 pmIs there money involved in being protected? You don't think chaos will ensue with a 5-4, Conservative split of the bench? Especially after a contentious nomination and confirmation? You're underestimating your opponents.

I think the GOP is taking the position now that it doesn't matter what they do, chaos is going to abound anyway no matter what position is taken on replacing Ginsberg. If you run that through the Nash equilibrium, if chaos is going to happen anyway, might as well move ahead with a nomination. Dems were already leaning towards packing the court before Ginsberg passed, and they'll likely do so once they get control again anyway. Going to be crazy times in DC over the next decade as both parties do whatever they can to consolidate power.

The idea of giving into the Leftist demands in hopes they play fair later is utterly ridiculous. If the standard is that anyone who even entertains debates over the maximalist and most controversial questions in this very new and evolving social movement is to be cast out as radioactive, liberalism and the Democratic Party will be a very small group.
...liberals care far more about proper culture signaling than they do about the much harder and more consequential work of actual politics.
