DOJ defending Trump in a civil suit is batshit crazy. Sad that this is only a small story that won't make so much as a ripple.

Not to mention that a 4 degree means jack shit. There are people out there with college degrees that are dumber than a bag of hammers. I know some pretty intelligent, honest, hardworking people who have high school diplomas, associates and/or professional cert.

AND don't forget how you will only see one side of the political spectrum from your professors. For full disclosure, I did have a couple conservative profs, but they were few and far between.
Yup. I had one that I knew for a fact was Republican - Mr. Richardson. Such a choade.

Perhaps this nomination is a joke akin to Hitler's nomination in 1939. :coffee:

I forgot what Obama even did to get nominated..

Not my experience AT ALL. They were apolitical in their teaching from political science to aquatic facilities management.

But he donates his salary ... of course the cost to the government (and taxpayers) will probably be significantly more than his salary. He's such a putz.

My engineering/Calculus ones were pretty even across the board, next to no bias. My history and English professors were even in that they presented a good split of all sides of an argument. Had a couple of writing and speech professors that were definitely not and let it be know that certain topics would not be tolerated that were definitely more conservative in nature.

I don't blame a particular ideology for any of it. It comes down to the personal integrity of the teacher. One of the furthest left professors I ever had was very open and willing to see both sides of any discussion. All he asked was that we should remain civil.

A good teacher/professor teaches you how to think not what to think. One of my favorite professors was a former director of Rainbow PUSH (reported to Jesse Jackson Sr), he opened my mind to different perspectives and really helped me develop my critical thinking.

The only professor I remember with any significant bias was my Women in US History professor, who made it a class assignment to attend the Phyllis Schlafly talk that accompanied her visiting campus and to heckle her. But considering that Schlafly, IMO, encouraged that to increase her own publicity, I didn't really consider that as a problem with the professor. Other than that, my profs in the subjects like history or poly sci were notably even handed. But that was a good 25 years ago now and included time before Clinton, so that's a lifetime in terms of political culture.

5 Boats Sink At Trump Boat Parade In Texas

Image

The weather was calm, the atmosphere festive. Which made it all the more surprising when several boats sank Saturday at an event put on by Trump supporters near Austin, Texas.

"Decorate your boats in patriotic colors and fly as many Trump flags as she can handle!" the Facebook page for the Lake Travis Trump Boat Parade encouraged. "Let's really make a statement!"

The statement wasn't what they intended. When the hundreds of boats started moving together, their wakes created unexpected turbulence. Before long, the Travis County Sheriff's Office had received 15 distress calls. It received three more reports of boats taking on water from a local towing company.

"Almost immediately upon the parade going into motion, TCSO began receiving distress calls from boaters," the sheriff's office said in a press release. "The distress calls varied and included: boats taking on water, stalled engines, capsized boats and boats sinking."

Most of the boats taking on water were able to be towed before they sank to the bottom of the lake, the sheriff's office said. Ultimately, five boats did sink during the event. Three of those were recovered, but two remained submerged Sunday.

Congrats to you. I can tell you that my son's profs at Maryland way overstepped their bounds to the liberal end time after time.

Can we all now agree that the election of Donald Trump has diminished America? I mean, it's pretty obvious.

To you it is. Trump's presidency has definitely been a mixed bag but it hasn't been all bad. It's pure speculation, but I think that a Hillary presidency would have been worse in the short and long-term.

Thoughts from a hipster coffee shop…
My generation is becoming the largest voting bloc in the country. We have an opportunity to continue to propel us forward with the gifts capitalism and democracy has given us. The other option is that we can fall into the trap of entitlement and relapse into restrictive socialist destitution. The choice doesn’t seem too hard, does it?
...
Let me lay down some universal truths really quick. The United States of America has lifted more people out of abject poverty, spread more freedom and democracy, and has created more innovation in technology and medicine than any other nation in human history. Not only that but our citizenry continually breaks world records with charitable donations, the rags to riches story is not only possible in America but not uncommon, we have the strongest purchasing power on earth, and we encompass 25% of the world’s GDP. The list goes on. However, these universal truths don’t matter. We are told that income inequality is an existential crisis (even though this is not an indicator of prosperity, some of the poorest countries in the world have low-income inequality), we are told that we are oppressed by capitalism (even though it’s brought about more freedom and wealth to the most people than any other system in world history), we are told that the only way we will acquire the benefits of true prosperity is through socialism and centralization of federal power (even though history has proven time and again this only brings tyranny and suffering).

A rouge judge? Is that someone that critiques the shades of makeup - someone that didn't like the orange tones of Trump's rouge?
