The flip side of that is that is a lot of peoples' eyes Obama diminished the US when he traveled around apologizing for real and perceived slights without giving enough credence to the many great things the US has done to make the world a better place.

Trump is a buffoon and he has diminished the US in some ways but he's shone a light on inequities (European countries contributing their share to NATO, the Paris Accord's kid gloves treatment of China and India, etc.) and improved our position in others. Despite what the Chicken Littles run around screaming, he isn't Hitler and the end of the republic is not nigh.

I worry more about AOC and her merry little band of Manchurian Marxists than I do Trump.
