Holy shit. This is one of my biggest complaints about our Government. Bunch of lazy bastards that couldn't meet a deadline if needed.

Re: 2020 General Election
Allegations at a Congressional hearing are evidence now? They weren't during the various Russia collusion hearings. What changed?
Anything substantial or is it just another example of Trumpers being as irrational and hysterical as his opponents?

Re: 2020 General Election
Until we see ballots, this is the best evidence that can be put forward. Why is everyone so afraid of a forensic audit? If anything, this should be the impetus for requiring said audit.
I love how everyone keeps asking how many jelly beans are in the jar, but you don't even get to see the jar.
On a separate subject, how about the forensic audit of the voting machines in Antrim county? That's not proof?

I'm not afraid of a forensic audit. I'm on record as saying I think there was some hinky stuff with this election. I'm just not sure an audit is going to turn up much. How do you check signatures if ballots have been separated from their envelopes? You can't invalidate an entire state and disenfranchise every voter in that state.
I want an audit so we can clean up procedures to prevent this stuff in the future.
I also want Trump to stop whining and throwing twitter tantrums and act like a grownup. If he can't do that he should just take his ball and go home to Mar-a-Lago.

You didn't answer about the forensic audit of the Dominion Voting System which sent 68% of ballots to adjudication, where the logs were erased and no tracking of how or who adjudicated the ballots.UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 10:04 pmAllegations, hysteria and innuendo are not proof.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 8:49 pm

Neighbors of Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Fla., that he has called his Winter White House, have a message for the outgoing commander in chief: We don’t want you to be our neighbor.
That message in a demand letter was delivered Tuesday to the town of Palm Beach and was addressed to the U.S. Secret Service, saying Trump lost his legal right to live at Mar-a-Lago because of an agreement he signed in the early 1990s when he converted the storied estate from his private residence to a private club. The legal maneuver could force Palm Beach to publicly address whether Trump can make Mar-a-Lago his legal residence and home, as he has been expected to do, when he becomes an ex-president after the swearing-in of Joe Biden on Jan. 20.

Here is Powell’s chance to sink Dominion and blow the lid off this cover-up! In its letter, Dominion demanded that Ms. Powell publicly disavow several false claims she has repeated in the past few weeks. She has maintained, for instance, that Dominion machines and their software were created in Venezuela to help the country’s now-deceased former president, Hugo Chavez, win elections. But Dominion insists that it has no connection to Venezuela, to Mr. Chavez or for that matter, as the letter notes, to “Big Foot or the Loch Ness monster.”
Dominion also demanded that Ms. Powell retract false statements she has made suggesting that the company paid kickbacks to officials in Georgia for “no-bid contracts” to use its machines and that it manipulated votes in “an effort to rig the 2020 election.”
Dominion noted that Ms. Powell never mentioned her accusations in any of her court filings, depriving the company of the opportunity to legally refute them. “While you are entitled to your own opinions, Ms. Powell,” the company wrote, “you are not entitled to your own facts.”

No. She, or maybe Lin Wood, were claiming there was validity to their claims and that proof was Dominion wasn't refuting their claims because they were afraid of discovery if they ever went to court.kalm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 8:47 amSo that’s why the court cases didn’t go anywhere?SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 8:41 am

Are you saying the Government doesn't have a public health responsibility?SDHornet wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 2:44 pmAnd yet people are lining up to put their health in the hands of the government. Sounds like double standards to me.Ibanez wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 2:34 pm
No. SolarWinds should've caught it in their reviews. You don't do a code review every time Google/Apple/Microsoft sends you an update for your phone or PC do you? The CISAs mission isn't to spot check when a vendor updates itself. That's an unreasonable demand to put on them. The onus of security is on the individual company. The government is too large for that. At work, we do check updates that come through, but we can't check them all and it's an extremely taxing job. If it's extremely difficult for 2nd largest bank in the US/8th largest in the world then I can't imagine how difficult it would be for the US government to heck the updates of every single technology vendor it utilizes.
I've read the SolarWinds' server password was simply "solarwinds123". They're accountable.

Re: 2020 General Election
This is what I love about my career path and the tech - Microsoft, SolarWinds and GoDaddy hacked the hackers and took over their machines (virtually). They've taken it over and are using it to divert traffic for review. They've also created a kill switch that makes the malicious code terminate itself.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 2:08 pmShouldn't they have at least checked the updates? I realize when SolarWinds sends out an update, you assume it to be clean, but shouldn't CISA be a cut above?
Ron, aka Codemonkey Z, would have checked the updates!

Saw a headline claiming the gubmints nuclear arsenal was hacked. Good job Krebs.
Re: 2020 General Election
I thought Trump was going to hire the best. This is probably from SolarWinds. Again - not an independent agencies job to test the security of a private companies software updates.

Re: 2020 General Election
This is just ridiculous. Today I heard about Peter Navarro's 36 page document purporting to have shown voting fraud. I was particularly interested in the section on statistical anomalies. The document is at https://bannonswarroom.com/wp-content/u ... 5.20-1.pdf.
The first thing I decided to check shows how bad this is. It's this statement:
There is a reference to an affidavit.
So I do a Google. First hit I look at is at https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-fact ... SKBN28R20M. It references Russ Ramsland and notes that information in an affidavit he did is inaccurate. Next hit I looked at is at https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/ ... 366011002/. A quote:
That's how bad it is. But people have to keep rebutting this nonsense.
Again: That is the FIRST thing I picked to check on. I can tell you right now the stuff about numbers of dead voters in various states has also been shown to be false. These people just keep telling the same lies over and over again no matter how frequently they get debunked.
The first thing I decided to check shows how bad this is. It's this statement:
Cybersecurity executive and former NASA analyst, Russ Ramsland, testified that in WayneCounty, Michigan, where Dominion Voting Systems equipment was used, 46 out of 47 precincts in the county displayed greater than a 96% voter turnout. 25 out of those precincts showed a 100% voter turnout.
There is a reference to an affidavit.

There's an image of a list that doesn't show up in the quote. But anyway: I heard about a Republican guy making that mistake of confusing Michigan and Minnesota weeks ago. Note that the date of the Detroit Free Press article quoted above is November 21. The quote from Navarro's report, dated December 15, cites false information that was recognized as false weeks ago.A separate part of the affidavit focuses on Wayne County, which includes Detroit. Of 47 Wayne County precincts, the document lists 25 that allegedly showed 100% turnout. Here’s that portion of the document:
A list of 25 precincts that allegedly showed 100% turnout
This portion of the document isn’t accurate either: None of the 25 precincts listed are actually in Wayne County. Like the 19 precincts cited above, each is in Minnesota.
