The NCAA announced the use of host sites due to COVID. I think this announcement (08 APR) is a bit presumptuous, given the shakeups that took place this past weekend, but here they are:
Delaware
E. Washington
Jacksonville State
JMU
Kennesaw State
Maine
SW Missouri State
Murray State
North Dakota
NDSU
Sam Houston State
SDSU
Villanova
Weber State
The NCAA has confirmed 10 auto-bids and six at-large bids. Eight of these will be chosen to host first round games, allegedly NOT to be influenced by schools actually chosen to participate. (So we could theoretically see Duquesne vs. Weber at Kennesaw?!? Yeah, right!) Twelve will be chosen to host QF/SF games. As we previously knew, the Finals are set for Frisco, TX, Sun 16 May, on ABC. ESPN and related networks will broadcast all of the preliminaries.
So I'm totally confused by these host sites...does that mean each qrt of the bracket is hosted by one school?
So for instance per the Hero sports bracket Weber is the 4th seed and plays SDSU in Ogden and the other game is Richmond vs Sacred Heart. Is the Richmond vs Sacred Heart game also in Ogden?
Totally confused here (not difficult) so could someone explain it to me? Please and thank you.
Agreed. They haven’t been clear.
Something else to consider...
There’s no way EWU is on that list without the NCAA picking up hosting fees. Playoff games we’re a net revenue loss even with full capacity seating.
This also just screams the need for seeding the entire field.

-You do know ETSU just lost to Mercer, has zero chance of getting the So-Con AQ , or at 4-2 in the So-Con with no game Sat, virtually no chance an At-Large for that matter?
-You do know that JSU has clinched the OVC, Murray St has lost back to back OVC games, and has virtually no chance at an at large out of the OVC?
-You do know that all Davidson has to do to clinch the Pioneer is beat winless Stetson?
You have:
1st round HC @ JMU (plane trip)
VMI @ SHSU (plane trip).
Murray State @ UD (plane trip)
Sacred Heart @ NDSU (plane trip)
Monmouth @ SDSU (plane trip)
-VMI and JMU 57 miles apart
-Sacred Heart and HC 113 miles apart
-UD and Monmouth are 123 miles apart
Yet you act as if geography means nothing to the NCAA. How drunk were you when you posted this?
I don't think both NDSU and SDSU get in. One of the 2, will have 2 conference losses, finishing 3rd or 4th. UND if they win, have head-to-head over SDSU. SDSU if they win, has the head-to-head over NDSU. I'll be surprised if a 2 loss MVFC team gets in.

They‘ll get in because after you remove the 10 AQ teams, for the 6 At Large, there won‘t be 6 at least 4 win/no more than 1 loss teams feom the top 6 conferences will the At Larges will come from. Could even have a 2 loss at large outside the MVFC..

Playoff field.
With UIW and ETSU being upset this past Sat, virtually eliminating the Southlands and So-Con’s chances at an at-large, that left the last 2 at-large spots up in the air.
The locks if favorites win out 4/17:
-NDSU (7-1/6-1)
-UND (5-1)
-SDSU (4-2)
-UD (5-0/4-0) (even with a loss to VU)
-JMU (5-0/3-0) (even with a loss to UR)
-Weber (5-0)
-EWU (5-1)
-SHSU (6-0)
-JSU (9-2/6-1)
-VMI (6-1)
-Monmouth (3-0)
-Holy Cross (3-0)
-Sacred Heart (3-1)
-Davidson (5-2/5-1)
The final 2 spots will be 2 of the below 5:
-Mo St (5-4/5-1) (Fall P5 loss and 2 losses UCA).
-3rd CAA VU (3-1 if upset UD) or UR (3-1 assuming loss to JMU).
-SELA (5-2/4-2 IF win @ SIU) (SIU should be favored).
-Mercer (6-2 IF win @ Samford)
-UIW (4-2 IF upset SHSU at home)

There's no way the Valley gets just 2 teams. And you're not putting MO State over either SDSU/NDSU, even if NDSU wins.
They're going to get 4 teams. The spring resumes compare better than just about anyone

That would be great, to get 4 teams in a 16 team tournament.

Yep. UIW and ETSU last week losing, making it likely that the Southland and So-Con each only get one, makes it likely the MVFC gets a 4th (MO St)..
