Now for why I came here. I've been looking into the ivermectin thing. I came across this article at Pharmaceutical Technology:

https://www.pharmaceutical-technology.c ... political/

Lots of interesting stuff in there. But one paragraph particularly stuck me:
he drug’s manufacturer, pharma giant MSD, also warned that its analysis of ivermectin identified “no scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against Covid-19 from pre-clinical studies”, “no meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with Covid-19 disease” and “a concerning lack of safety data” in most studies.
I looked up the manufacturer's statement to verify that the report is accurate. It is. Apparently "MSD" is Merck. The statement is at https://www.merck.com/news/merck-statem ... -pandemic/

I think that if someone wants to take ivermectin because they think it'll help them with COVID-19 they should be free to do so. But they should do so knowing that the drug's manufacturer says, while referring to ivermectin:
It is important to note that, to-date, our analysis has identified:

No scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against COVID-19 from pre-clinical studies;
No meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with COVID-19 disease, and;
A concerning lack of safety data in the majority of studies.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

After reading about the recent death of the Bloomington Minnesota Girls Hockey Coach death over a Social Distancing argument, I'm done with all this Covid talk.

Do what you need to do, but don't make fun of the next guy for doing something different.

Got my second Moderna yesterday morning. A little tender today, but nothing worse than after a long workout.

Also it looks like India has completely collapsed under the weight of the new variants. State media is currently reporting ~2000 deaths per day, but world organizations think it's actually 10x to 30x as much. :shock:

Good article on the India Variant. They make sure to point out they don't know if the variant does what some are saying it does.

As it happens India was cited as an example of a country that was having success with ivermectin back when that Doctor i Idaho did his presentation that went viral. That was in early March when things were pretty stable in India. Things went bonkers a few weeks later. The graph of deaths from Worldometers below shows deaths in India. You can see the dates along the bottom. I think the guy gave his presentation on March 3. If not it was close to that. Anyway you can see what things were like when he was giving his presentation and giving India as an example of a country having success with ivermectin then see what happened around the beginning of April. India reported 86 deaths on March 3. They reported 2761 today.

Go Earth!

US continues to plateau at 50,000 + new cases. IIRC, 10,000 is the goal for getting back to normal life. 85 million now fully vaccinated in the US, 232 million world wide. Florida is back on top of new cases counts.

Oh so we're regurgitating the case counts narratives? :lol:

CA down to 2100 new cases per day on the 7 day avg. I'm sure Newsolini's recall has nothing to do with it. :coffee:

According to Worldometer, 7 day Avg new daily cases US has dropped from 256k a day Jan peak to less than 60k a day now; 7 day avg deaths from 3,500 a day Jan to 700+ a day now. Both continue to drop.

Total cases per 1 million population FL is 22nd..
If you look at NEW cases PER 1 MILLION population, FL not even close to on top..

The risk of contracting COVID-19 indoors is the same when socially distanced 6 feet apart and 60 feet apart, researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) say.

The study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America earlier this month, argues that there isn’t much benefit to distancing 6 feet apart.

The majority of people eligible in the US are vaccinated now (at least one shot, and that first shot does the bulk of the work anyway according to the studies) - that means that even if you get COVID it probably won't impact you or at the worst, it'll be like the flu (that statement is finally ringing true after being incorrect pre-vaccines). Case counts are losing any meaning at this point. The end is near, although in this case, not the end of days but the end of the pandemic, in the US at least. Rest of the world still has a ways to go unfortunately.

Tucker Carlson: 'Contact child protective services' if you see kids wearing masks outdoors
"As for forcing children to wear masks outside, that should be illegal," Carlson said on his program. "Your response when you see children wearing masks as they play should be no different from your response to seeing someone beat a kid in Walmart. Call the police immediately, contact child protective services. Keep calling until someone arrives."

Carlson also said that requiring children to wear masks while outdoors constitutes child abuse and that all Americans "are morally obligated to attempt to prevent it."
