I suppose but I would vote for Kasich long before I’d ever vote for Manchin.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 2:51 pmUnfortunately, Kasich is to the GOP kind of what Manchin is to the Democrats.kalm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 2:05 pm

The GOP needs a reasonable conservative (I’ve mentioned Kasich before). Every silly authoritarian law and media kerfluffle (Montana and Tennessee) further destroys the brand while simultaneously rallying the Dem base.
(I’d also give it a 50/50 chance of Tucker running)

De Santis was a flash-in-the-pan, its downhill from here for him politically. Now Florida will have a governor who will have to settle for a job he didn't want and thought it would be smart politics to pick a fight with Disney. Watch him flame out spectacularly.![]()

and there is already the hint of a Tucker-like whine to his public speaking. He's toast and when the campaign is over he'll be a non-entity in FL and lose the gubnership to a less bellicose candidate. We’re talking a current 76 yr old vs an 80 yr old (78 vs almost 82 on election day). We have about 15 months till the conventions in Aug? 2024.The way I see it without lookibg up the Vegas odds:
Odds Biden dies or has a serious health issue in the next 15 months: 20% to 25%. Odds absent death or a serious health issue that its another Democrat: close to zero, maybe a couple percent.. So odds Biden is selected as the donk nominee at the 2024 convention: about 75%.
Odds Trump has a serious health issue in the next 15 months: 15% (in which case will be Desantis)
Odds Trump can’t be the conk nominee due to legal issues: 15% (in which case will be Desantis)
Odds Desantis beats Trump irregardelss of health or legal issues) 10%.
So odds Trump is selected as the conk nominee at the 2024 convention: 60%
75% Biden x 60% Trump = less than 50/50 its going to be Trump vs Biden II.
De Santis is showing himself to not be of Presidential timber. What kind of presidential aspirant detours from the goal to pick a fight with fucking Mickey Mouse? He's going to be governor of a State that was his plan B and everybody will know that he's Governor because he's a loser that couldn't hang in a bigger pond.kalm wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 3:17 pmI’m starting to think Trump has a better chance in the general than DeSantis.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 11:16 am This notion that its going to be Bidem v Trump part 2 is premature. The FBI and IRS supposedly got done with their investigation of Hunter over a year ago, but yet nothing is happening. If Hunter is charged with some slap on the wrist misdemeanors (which I suspect) for things which anyone else would be charged felonies for (failing to disclose millions of income when filing taxes, and lieing on a ATF 4473 when purchaing a firearm, then that will tell you the theory has no legs.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 3:36 pm Don't know how much legs the theory has, but seeing more and more people saying that all the release of dirt on Biden is to keep him from running again, especially as the dirt is being released from his side.

Could be, but I doubt it because the donk bench is too thin to risk it. Don't forget that DNC, and I assume also the RNC, are private organizations that are under no obligation to nominate the winner of the primary. Most times it would be suicide to not do so but there are probably a small handful of people with enough power to make it happen if somebody like Bernie, an outsider encouraged to run solely for the sake of giving the appearance of a choice, were to get legs to threaten the Party establishment. He pretty much exposed the DNC when he ran and it cost them the election when his crowd gave the DNC the finger and stayed home. Fears of that scenario is why the conks continue to grovel at Trump's feet.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 3:36 pm Don't know how much legs the theory has, but seeing more and more people saying that all the release of dirt on Biden is to keep him from running again, especially as the dirt is being released from his side.
It is a good theory but I think you have overlooked a confounding factor: if Hunter is charged with felonies for failure to disclose, Clarence Thomas is going to come under some very intense pressure to resign and I don't think the conks want to make that trade. I could be wrong, but I'm not, no I'm not... If however Hunter gets felony charges (I doubt) that will tell you the theory has legs..

Look at that, kalmie channeling his inner-SG. Never thought I see the day he sinks to that level but dare to dream I guess.
How many people do you know who collect Hitler and Nazi memorabilia? Serious question…
The number of folks I know that collect any memorabilia is pretty small, probably can count them on one or two hands. But then again, the folks I know aren't millionaires or billionaires either. Come to think of it, it would be nice to have some friends with that kind of money, I should work on that. Regardless, I'm not labeling anyone a Nazi unless they actually say something or take a position that would make it clear they are a Nazi. Otherwise, you're just another SG throwing a label on someone to justify your position. Maybe this guy is that, I honestly know very little about this story other than some bylines I've perused. Tell me what he's said or done to be a Nazi.
Bernie's warm feelings for and trip to the USSR doesn't make him a Marxist but Crow's collecting Nazi memorabilia makes him a Nazi?
