Remember those days that people were comparing 1/6 to 9/11, Pearl Harbor, etc.? The reality is that 1/6 was a big deal but not as big of a deal as some wanted to make it out to be. It was a threat to our republic but our republic wasn't really in danger.

Yup, the fear is that the next time it happens it could be pushed by a functional leader (rather than a Trump-type) and the folks heading up the riot could be thoroughly organized and armed. Thankfully, this was not really either of those. With that said, even if all those things were true the next time, there's still 300+ million Americans and all of the armed forces that would have to be on board with the coup and this past one had zero of that.
