Psychology is just as much a part of who you are as biology. So it doesn't hurt me and I don't let it trigger me if someone who was born a biological female feels that they're male. I'll do my best to respect them for who they feel they are.
I admittedly have a harder time respecting people who identify as intolerant bigots.
That's nice and with some exceptions most people feel the same way, but that isn't the subject of the article I posted.
If gender and race are social constructs, how is a male able to self-identify as a female, but a person of one race can't self-identify as someone from a different race?
It just doesn't make sense.
Do I think people can change their race or nationality? No. Do I think people can have an affinity for another race or ethnicity? Yes. Do I think it's entirely possible that someone can have ethnic elements in their DNA that they and their parents are unaware of? Yes.
I'm not expert, but I don't think gender and race are simply social constructs. Biology plays a role. For gender, no matter how much MAGAt yahoos want to simplify it down to crayon level, there's more to it than just X and Y chromosomes.
