A significant proportion of imports into the US are intermediate goods that reduce the costs of US firms allowing them to make profits in competition with foreign rivals both at home and abroad.

"A tariff, would raise the costs and prices of these firms, hurting both the firms and US consumers. Firms in the US that compete directly with imports can enjoy increased profits from an import tariff, but this would typically involve the firm raising its prices at the expense of US consumers."

Strictly from a US President perspective, he did a lot but so did Nixon, Carter, and Clinton. Nixon's assistance came at a more critical point in Israel's struggle to survive.

When it comes to "doing more for Israel than any person", trump couldn't sniff David Ben-Gurion's, Yitzhak Rabin's or Ariel Sharon's jocks or Golda Meir's panties.

As far as Israel being in BIG TROUBLE, they've survived and thrived to this point and will continue to do so regardless of who is POTUS.
