Sure…but I’m trying to stick with facts here rather than speculation. We could apply your reasoning to every administration including of course the current one within even a a direct tie to Ukraine as well.GannonFan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 12:32 pmCome on, even if you want to say the Hunter laptop wouldn't have changed anything, I don't think there's any doubt that there was a fairly wide, and fairly coordinated effort, at the highest levels of government, to pressure media and to censor that topic right out of the news. Re: Trump 2.0: MAGAA
What speculation? The White House coordinated specific, factual pressure on social media companies to bury the story from the Post. All those former national security folks, who either knew what they were signing was fake or just didn't know any of the details, factually signed a letter saying the story was false when they either knew it was true or just didn't care. None of that is really in dispute. Factually, our government lied about the veracity of the story and then applied pressure to squash it in the news. I'm not saying we haven't done similar or worse things in the past, but this wasn't a good thing either.kalm wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 12:46 pmSure…but I’m trying to stick with facts here rather than speculation. The majority of America knows the 2020 election was meddled with and coordinated to steal it from voters. KKKALM AND mgr88 wont admit it but we know it happened.

Re: Trump 2.0: MAGAA
I wouldn't say the majority feel that way. Heck, even if every single Trump voter felt that way, and they probably don't, that wouldn't even be 50% of the electorate. Was it meddled with? Sure, of course it was. Was it really meddled with much more than every other election we've had? Debatable. Was it stolen? Absolutely not. Just as Biden/Harris deserved the loss for their historically bad administration in the '24 election, Trump, most notably through the COVID debacle, dug his own grave in the '20 election.

Beyond Hunter trading on his dad’s name. You’re implying there was a massive cover up involving “all those nat sec folks” to the point that there’s surely something more. Yet, Rudy and Manafort’s efforts in UKR were as pure as the driven snow?GannonFan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 1:14 pmWhat speculation? Re: trump 0.2: MAQAA
Are you really arguing that there were none/zero/zilch/nada connections between the trump campaign and russia?
The trump/russia connections were kind of like the biden, hunter, big guy, Ukraine & China stuff - enough smoke to suspect a fire but ultimately not enough to warrant prosecution/impeachment.
Calling it a HOAX is whitewashing.

Not to mention the DOJ dropping their case against the "perpetrators" when they actually showed up for court with decent lawyers. Mueller was afraid of discovery.

Re: Trump 2.0: MAGAA
These lands belong to the American people. This is regressive thinking on so many levels.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... SApp_OtherDonald Trump has ordered that swathes of America’s forests be felled for timber, evading rules to protect endangered species while doing so and raising the prospect of chainsaws razing some of the most ecologically important trees in the US.
The president, in an executive order, has demanded an expansion in tree cutting across 280m acres (113m hectares) of national forests and other public lands, claiming that “heavy-handed federal policies” have made America reliant on foreign imports of timber.
“It is vital that we reverse these policies and increase domestic timber production to protect our national and economic security,” the order adds.
Trump has instructed the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to increase logging targets and for officials to circumvent the US’s Endangered Species Act by using unspecified emergency powers to ignore protections placed upon vulnerable creatures’ habitats.
This move is similar to recent instructions by Trump to use a rarely-used committee to push through fossil fuel projects even if they imperil at-risk species. Experts have said this overriding of the Endangered Species Act is probably illegal.

Re: Trump 2.0: MAGAA
So first, Marco and Elon have it out in a cabinet meeting, then R’s pushback on tariffs, and now this.
Republicans eating their own.
Republicans eating their own.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... SApp_OtherAmy Coney Barrett, the Donald Trump-appointed conservative supreme court justice, has been branded a “DEI judge” by furious rightwing figures, after she voted to reject Trump’s attempt to freeze nearly $2bn in foreign aid.
Coney Barrett, part of the court’s rightwing majority, split with her fellow conservative justices this week. She and John Roberts, the chief justice, voted to leave in place a ruling from a US district judge which ordered the Trump administration to unfreeze the nearly $2bn in aid for foreign aid work that had already been performed, and that had been approved by Congress.
The reaction from pro-Trump rightwing commentators and activists was swift.
“She is evil, chosen solely because she checked identity politics boxes. Another DEI hire. It always ends badly,” Mike Cernovich, a prominent rightwing influencer and conspiracy theorist, wrote on X, referencing diversity, equity and inclusion policies which Republicans have demonized.
Fox News host Mark Levin claimed in an online post that Barrett had “deceived people into thinking she was a reliable constitutionalist”. He added: “The power has gone to her head. It happens with frightening regularity the last half century.”
Laura Loomer, the rightwing activist who repeatedly traveled with Trump during his 2024 campaign, went even further. She posted a picture of Coney Barrett’s family, which includes two adopted Black children, and wrote: “Amy Coney Barrett was a DEI appointee.” Jack Posobiec, a popular Maga figure with more than 3m followers on X, posted that Coney Barrett was a “DEI judge”.
Mike Davis, who was involved in the effort to confirm Trump nominees Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh to the supreme court, appeared on Steve Bannon’s podcast to add his voice to the criticism.
“She’s a rattled law professor with her head up her ass,” Davis said of Coney Barrett.

I don’t recall claiming Trump had leverage over Russia. I’m guessing it’s been the opposite if anything.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 4:22 pmHow about you list out this "leverage" Trump had over Russia, you being a Russia expert and all?

Then again, Russia has struggled from day 1 and they’re still taking on significant causalities, so maybe Trump does have leverage.
Either would explain the pivot away from NATO to support of Putin.
You’re not going to try and argue that move are ya?
