I’m moving to the Faroe Islands.

I have a friend who's now taken 3 different vacations to Iceland - two in the summer months and he actually went once in the dark and cold winter months. The photos he's shared look incredible. Just gorgeous landscapes. I'm always living here, but plenty of places to go for vacations still.

I love lonely, isolated places and the Norwegian in me is a draw to those landscapes and cultures.

Plus they both have excellent fishing for sea trout, browns, and arctic char.

Next fall we're also driving out to Colorado Springs and back (going to a Navy/Air Force game). I've never been to the Rockies so I want to see that. Figure we'll go drive out one way north and south and do the opposite on the way back.

Historians are good at history, not necessarily current events. Likely we'll all be gone by the time future historians take a real historical look at the times we are living in. Trump may very well be low even on that list. But there's no way Biden's Presidency will be 14th - that ranking pretty much invalidates that poll entirely.

I was trolling a bit with this post but at least the evaluation was done by actual historians vs. the Biden is the wirst president of all time brigade.

Much of it is allowing policies enough time too see their true effect. We’re still operating under a neo-liberal/supply side economic system that was implemented under Reagan if not a little with Carter. If you measure by productivity and/or GDP, it’s all been splendid. If you measure by continued infrastructure investment and middle class wealth, not so much.

Or Lincoln’s homestead and college land grant acts and FDR’s New Deal projects which brought decades of sustained growth and use even through today.
