It’s what authoritarian regimes do. I’m guessing YouTube is throttling anti-Trump accounts/posted clips as well. Is there one new or old media conglomerate who’s refused to kiss the ring? Are there any free speech advocates remaining in the GOP?
Yes…but not many. Charlie was a free speech advocate.

You know it’s a crazy word when the L is agreeing with Tucker.
Yes. Many ironies with this.

 Trump was not responsible for J6. Interesting dichotomy you have going on though. Cancelling Trump ok. Cancelling Kimmel not okay.

With that being said, I don't think Kimmel should have been cancelled, but he did outright lie.
Yes he was. His rhetoric and denial fueled those morons into taking action.

If lying got you canceled, then Fox would’ve been off the air long ago. Same with CNN

If you're referring to Kimmel, please, they were still making money on his show, otherwise, like you say, it wouldn't be on. There's no doubt that he got pulled off the air because of the threat from the FCC chair to pull the broadcast licenses if they didn't. There's no way to get around that and there's no way to justify that as a good thing. Trump and his temper did the wrong thing here. :coffee:

Wasn’t Kimmel one of the top rated late night shows with tons of advertising money coming in? Sees he was doing his job and bringing in the money for ABC.

And Roseanne was fired by a private company that was only under duress of public protest. Kimmel was pulled off the air because the government threatened to, in essence, gut the ability of the company to conduct business by revoking their broadcast licenses. That's a mighty big difference. Government, in Kimmel's case, not only didn't protect free speech, but was the main perpetrator of denying that free speech.

Remember, the free speech guarantee in the 1st amendment protects people from the government restricting free speech. Private companies or people can restrict speech if they choose to, the Constitution doesn't apply to that.

Unfortunately, that's probably accurate. A big blunder IMO.

The same cast of characters whining, crying, and complaining about this did not have one word to say (unless they were cheerleading it) when the Biden administration was covertly doing the same thing.

Hey, I've already put out there that the Biden administration did a lot of the same things, just less overtly. And I also said then and say it now that those were horrible abuses of governmental power. That's the irony of people calling Trump a fascist and totalitarian when he's using much of the same playbook as administration that several on here not only defended, but voted for. Some twice.

But that doesn't make Trump doing what he did right or good. He's wrong and it's a bad thing.

Jimmy Kimmel has only himself to blame for losing his show

Make no mistake here: Jimmy Kimmel doomed himself with his lunatic lecture Monday night, the latest in a long string of partisan rants that rarely even pretended to try for humor.

And it was the complaints from ABC’s affiliates — likely based on what they were hearing from their viewers — that led the network to suspend his show late Wednesday.

Yes, Brendan Carr muddied the waters earlier on Wednesday, when the Federal Communications Commission chief, touching on Kimmel, suggested the FCC is “going to have remedies that we can look at.”

Yet the “comedian’s” goose was surely already cooked, since he’d literally tried to turn the assassination of a leading conservative — a civilian father of two young kids — into reason to be outraged at the right.

“The MAGA gang [is] desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel smarmed.

No: Not a whit of evidence ever pointed to Tyler Robinson being MAGA in any way, though many on the left spent the first week insisting otherwise….

….Sure, a host of lefties spent much of the weekend on social media telling each other the “he was MAGA” lie, but every actual fact that was coming out pointed the other way……

His ratings were dropping like a rock…. TV is dying anyway was just a matter of time

“According to monthly Nielsen figures, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” dropped to just 1.1 million total viewers in August 2025, down 43% from January’s 1.95 million. His August household rating of 0.35 marked the weakest showing of the year.”

One thing is certain- Kimmel proved himself to be a next level moron & one of the dumber people on TV when by insisting almost a week after the assassination, that the shooter was MAGA as opposed to Team Left. After everything that has come out clearly indicating the shooter was Team Left, anyone who believes that the shooter was a conk is a next level Jewish Space laser moron.
