I’m not exaggerating about these people on snap, almost everyone of them looks over weight to me

No chips and Twinkies should be allowed on SNAP
The only thing that should be allowed with food stamps:
-fruits and veggies
-meat
-dairy

I would even argue no carbs including breads. Certainly nothing with high fructose corn syrup.
And you’ll never hear the Medical industry say a word about the government promoting obesity with SNAP….

Trump signs bill ending longest government shutdown in US history. After 43 days, it’s over.

We won't really know the outcome of this until we see what happens to Schumer in his primary. For him, all of this will be worth it if he doesn't see a legitimate contender in the Dem primary. In the end, it's all about access to power for politicians. Way to go, Chuck. :ohno:

Lol at the donks. It wasn’t the clean continuing resolution that was ending ACA COVID subsidies; that was the Democrats who had set them to expire at the end of the year when EVERYONE agreed when they were enacted that they were TEMPORARY.

Yet poll after poll finds that slightly more Americans think Republicans are to blame for the shutdown than who think Democrats are at fault.

That public sentiment has only encouraged Democrats to dig in on the stalemate.
...
Johnson has kept the House out of session during the shutdown, arguing the chamber has already done its job. He has repeatedly rebuffed suggestions that the House could be doing other work, saying that appropriators are still working to prepare regular funding bills even though the House is not in session. Democrats, meanwhile, accuse Republicans of being on “vacation” during the shutdown.

The Speaker has refused to swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) while the House is out of session during the shutdown, leading to accusations that he is doing so to block a discharge petition to force a vote on a bill to release files about the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which Johnson has denied. Arizona’s Attorney General Kris Mayes (D) filed a lawsuit over Grijalva’s swearing-in thisweek.
What‘s good for the goose is good for the gander.
Johnson reminded everyone that something similar happened in 2020 when the Speaker of the House then was Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and no one cried a single teardrop.

"My colleague Julia Letlow from Louisiana was elected in a special election under very certain circumstances, and Nancy Pelosi, who was speaker at the time, took 25 days to administer the oath to Julia Letlow. Nobody threw a fit. Nobody engaged in a publicity stunt because Nancy Pelosi was doing that on the legislative calendar."

"I'm doing the same thing," he added. "It has nothing to do with Epstein. That's absurd. It's a moot point. The House Oversight Committee is digging into the Epstein file and putting out the documents almost in real time."

trump and Micro johnson sure seem worried about epstein. Did they really have an emergency meeting about it in the Situation Room? Did they summon Beetlejuice to the White House to try to get her to change her vote? These aren't the actions of an innocent man.

Clips

"Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins discussed data on food stamps and said that data from blue states is “going to give us a platform and a trajectory to fundamentally rebuild this program, have everyone reapply for their benefit, make sure that everyone that’s taking a taxpayer-funded benefit through SNAP or food stamps, that they literally are vulnerable and they can’t survive without it.”

"Rollins stated, “29 states, mostly the red states, responded with their data sets, February, March, April. … But here’s the most unbelievable news I have really, just over the last few days: That 5,000 dead people, that was just one month, the number is closer to 186,000 deceased men and women and children in this country are receiving a check. Now, that is what we’re really going to start clamping down on. Half a million are getting two. But here’s the really stunning thing: This is just data from those 29 mostly red states. Can you imagine when we get our hands on the blue state data, what we’re going to find?"

This is way overdue and exactly what needed to happen

What‘s  is you can‘t refute the Sec of Ag‘s statement so you resort to ad hominem.

Get with the times. Libs are corporatist establishment Dems. I’m none of these things. I don’t trust either party. I prefer to think on my own. You wouldn’t understand. :)
