Yes, multiple times.
Why was it okay for the Ukrainian government to kill its own Russian speaking citizens? They only asked for autonomy. Didn't ask to separate. Why was that okay? Employed the closest thing to real Nazis to go after them.
They didn't "only ask for autonomy." They took up arms against their nation, they did "ask to separate" and the Donetsk People's Republic the Luhansk People's Republic attempted to declare independence in 2014.
As usual, incorrect.
Let's walk down history lane. The US overthrew the pro Russian government. After that, the pro Ukrainian government started taking actions against Russian speaking population by removing Russian as an official language. Once again, if the US did this with Spanish, there wouldn't be a fainting couch big enough for you.
Then, during protests, the Kiev government green lighted the slaughter known as the Maidan Massacre (Kyiv, Feb 18-20, 2014). In addition, there were other killings like in Odessa by Ukrainian government direction.
The referendums conducted by the two self-proclaimed Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk in May 2014,
were not referendums of “independence” (независимость), as some unscrupulous journalists have claimed, but referendums of “self-determination” or “autonomy” (самостоятельность).
So here we have a government that didn't even follow its own rules when getting rid of the pro Russian leader, followed by removing the Russian language as an official language and then killing its own citizens at protests. You know protests? Those things you say are required.
After this, because the Ukrainian military was in shambles Kiev resorted to hiring mercenaries that were as close to actual Nazis to go into the Donetsk and Lugansk to kill more of its own citizens.
