Hey, Appy, when you finally get around to sticking your own pecker out and offering actual solutions - as opposed to making fun of everyone else's solutions and being against everything - could you please send me a PM heads up?

Thank you so much.

Love and kisses.

Barry would be delighted for a billionaire candidate to run as an independent in 2012. It might be the only thing that could save his arse.

Back on track is the correct phrase. The idiots in the previous adminsitration had it so far off track it will take some "magic" to get it moving forward again. And any person that would put someone as greedy, irresponsible, and ignorant as Dick Frickin Cheney on their posts....well, you have bigger problems than Barack Obama

Dude, he's the President. He should grace the Olympics with his regal presence, not fly off half-way around the world hat-in-hand to plead Chicago's case.

And that to me is the bigger issue - he's not acting like the President of the United States, he's acting like an ambassador without portfolio. That's not leadership, that's Bono of U2. Read this from Richard Cohen (as liberal, er, progressive as they come) of the Washington Post http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 02484.html:
... The trouble with Obama is that he gets into the moment and means what he says for that moment only. He meant what he said when he called Afghanistan a "war of necessity" -- and now is not necessarily so sure. He meant what he said about the public option in his health-care plan -- and then again maybe not. He would not prosecute CIA agents for getting rough with detainees -- and then again maybe he would.

Most tellingly, he gave Congress an August deadline for passage of health-care legislation -- "Now, if there are no deadlines, nothing gets done in this town . . . " -- and then let it pass. It seemed not to occur to Obama that a deadline comes with a consequence -- meet it or else.

Obama lost credibility with his deadline-that-never-was, and now he threatens to lose some more with his posturing toward Iran. He has gotten into a demeaning dialogue with Ahmadinejad, an accomplished liar. (The next day, the Iranian used a news conference to counter Obama and, days later, Iran tested some intermediate-range missiles.) Obama is our version of a Supreme Leader, not given to making idle threats, setting idle deadlines, reversing course on momentous issues, creating a TV crisis where none existed or, unbelievably, pitching Chicago for the 2016 Olympics. Obama's the president. Time he understood that.

Thanks to Rob Iola for the Richard Cohen article. Very telling indictment of our current incumbent by a columnist with no conservative creds whatsoever. Barry Obama has a short attention span, a soundbite mentality, a vermicular spine, and no discernible interest in the nitty-gritty of public policy. Contrast him to "policy wonk" Bill Clinton, who was so involved in the minutiae of the legislation he supported that it was fair to call him "Legislator in Chief."

Well, now we'll get to see if all of Barry's self-flagellation and America-hating will be rewarded by the international community with the payoff of awarding the Olympics to the United State.

Dude, this country is so far removed from the solutions I would suggest we implement, all I can be is negative. The vast majority of citizens in this country have been suckling on the govt teet for so long, they're addicted....the dems admit, nay, embrace the concept while the Reps claim the moral high ground of fiscal responsibility, yet grow the government at the fastest rate since New Deal....it's like searching for honor among thieves...and again, don't misintepret my leanings....I consider myself a true conservative & the solutions being bandied about from BOTH parties are niether true nor conservative in nature. However, I do enjoy calling out both sides for their inconsistent attacks upon one another, hence, the idea that I am negative I guess.....

It isn't short-attention span. It's the belief that all you need to do to address a problem is utter a few platitudes that scroll across a teleprompter. The real problem with this president is a lack of substance and intellect. He's in over his head.

Listening to him is like listening to an oratorically gifted evangelical preacher (like Jeremiah Wright). The preacher has no problem whipping the true believers into a a frenzy, but once the emotional high has subsided you realize that he didn't really say anything. But you don't care because you're a true believer and you love the emotional high and having something to believe in.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Dude, I've been in the arena through volunteering my services to the local governemntal boards...I'd say that's being more involved than 90% of the every-4-yr-voters prevalant in this country (or this board for that matter)....

I think Obama has an intellect: he's just superficial in his approach to policy. He's left health care in the hands of the Pelosi/Reid gang and their legislative aides, while turning his pollsters and advance men loose on VA and NJ to keep those statehouses in Dem hands. He dithers about Afghanistan, flitting from "crisis" mode to appeasement of his party's left wing in a matter of days, if not hours. The primacy of politics in this administration is truly breathtaking -- and scary. Friends, we're in the hands of a callow amateur with a big ego.

It isn't short-attention span. It's the belief that all you need to do to address a problem is utter a few platitudes that scroll across a teleprompter. The real problem with this president is a lack of substance and intellect. He's in over his head.

I felt this way about Bush as well. But the difference was, at this same juncture in W's 1st term, I was very impressed with the team he had surrounded himself. You don't have to know all the answers yourself, but surround yourself with people who specialize in those arenas. While I didn't agree 100% (who does) with their policy, there was no doubt to that team's political ability & experience...I don't have that same feeling with this administration.....which, who knows, may not be a bad thing considering.....
