Man, look at the absence of homes on Rich Mtn. (and on Howard's Knob in the other pic). That's beautiful...what an awesome view they had at the old stadium location. And, endzone seating.

Yup, it's a travesty that the town allowed development on the slopes of Rich Mountain and the Knob. :shake: I'd be all for declaring eminent domain and removing the eyesores towering above the town. :D

Chapell-Wilson and Smith-Wright Halls. I believe Smith-Wright was once a high school. I know Whitener Hall was the old elementary school before it was torn down. My mom went there.

I didn't know that, when were they built? I thought the old part of Newland Hall (I lived there junior year) was the oldest. It was built in 1903. I love Chapell-Wilson, what a beautiful building.

I love how every player is looking off into different directions. So stoic!

Perhaps not historical, but definitely a memorable image from 2005: I found this slideshow of the play where MSU QB Travis Lulay got sandwiched between 2 defenders and lost his helmet. EWU went on to win 35-15 and hold off UC-Davis the next week to reach 7 D-I wins, and MSU took down the Griz in Bozeman to make a 3 way tie at the top, giving EWU the Autobid into the playoffs. Amazing photo!

UMass football goes back a ways...

Here's the squad from 1888

Image

Looks like 1901 was a good year...every game a shutout except one...

Image

We packed the stands back in the day...this is circa 1905 or so...

Image

Some game action from 1922...

"Moxie" Marx, the 1924 team captain...I took freshman English with him....I think...
