I was on the phone with a friend about an hour ago and that is the comparison I made as well. I think they are very similar in style to MSU and may have just a little more in the tank than MSU.
Well Im hoping we fare better than MSU did Should be a heck of a game if the Jacks can play well!
Please don't tell Obama what comes after a Trillion.
I was over on SDSU fans, there are some pretty cool people posting over there, and then there are some ( a very vocal minority I think) that hate us because we canceled on the home game we owed them. They need to join the club. With that, I really like the Jackrabbits....They seem pretty interchangeable with MSU as far as philosophy goes, but perhaps a little more talented on D. They have been lit up a few times by good offenses, but I think this will be a close one until the fourth quarter. Griz 41 Jacks 28
The Jacks wet themselves in their last big game and that was at home. I give them a puncher's chance at the Griz, no more, unless the weather gets real bad.. SDSU's lack of athleticism was badly exposed by SIU.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

Not the greatest matchup for the playoff rookies but I didn't expect anything else.
Don't fall into the common opponent trap. SDSU played at Poly. Also lost the starting QB midway through the second. The two of Poly's three touchdowns were on the offense.
That being said I watched a bit of the Brawl on Saturday and would think that my Jacks are nothing but big underdogs.
Hey EQ, are you still in South Dakota? I'm a Montana transplant, currently living in the Northern Hills. Any clue on the prospects of this game being televised in SD? The Rapid City media doesn't seem to pay much attention to the Jacks (or the Coyotes for that matter).
As for the game, I'd agree with the comparisons to MSU that have already been made (right down to the blue and gold). I see it being similar to many of the games the Griz have played this year....close early until the Griz offense finds its groove and then the Griz dominate the 2nd half. Something like 34-17 seems ballpark to me.

Told Ya so. Right now its a few people and they claim its about more than just cancelling the back end game. I'd tried to post something reasonable but got shot at a bit too. Oh well.
SDSU had best get used to facing Montana in the playoffs. With the regionalization of things this is likely to happen every year we get in.

Yes, I am in Sioux Falls. I wouldn't bank on any of the TV stations picking the game up here in SF. Like I said, I caught the Brawl on one of the Fox Sports Channels somewhere in the 600's on Directv so I am hoping that I can get that lucky again this weekend.

A) you're absolutely right.
B) SDSU fans needs closure on the "buying out the return game" issue.

Fixed it for ya.
I have never understood the indignation people feel over a perceived slight. The only people that had a right to feel slighted would be the players on the team the year Montana didn't come to Brookings. IF anyone in the athletic dept still has a problem they only have themselves to blame. If you are going to write a two for one with the one being in the end then you better make the buy out big enough to make the two trips worth it.

My God. A 'Jacks fan with perspective.
I think I love you.

Montana 30, SDSU 20
yeah but.... this UM(t) is better than that UM(n).
I'd LOVE to see the Jacks knock off the Griz,
but I'm not holding my breath on it happening.

I don't think it really makes a difference. We pretty much knew UM would get SDSU, McNeese, or SFA; those three are all about even in my mind. I guess it's a slight disadvantage getting SDSU since they're more used to winter weather, but that's about it.
danefan wrote:I think Montana got screwed here. #1 seed shouldn't have this tough a first round game.
SDSU's defense is really good. I think a FG will decide this one.
Agree, Montana is in a tough bracket, but every game except the NC will be in Missoula, where they will not lose.

If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."
I hope not, that might not bode well for UM with their inconsistency in the kicking game.

Idk, I think SDSU fans are still upset UM used them as their poster child for their intro vid and they were part of UM's infamous cupcakes over the years.... sorry, jokes

It's the thing UNI fans can't get over about the Griz.
That was a great game/memory...allegedly, UNI refused to trade tapes, so the Griz used that as bulletin board material and it really got GrizNation fired up oddly A UNI player ended up punching a star player (DeCoite, I believe) in the nuts and was ejected which got the crowd going even more...haha good stuff...think it ended up 38-0 or something like that.

I wouldnt take those guys too seriously. Its just 2-3 people who are being total jackasses about this and cant let it the hell go. Personally Im embarrassed by it, because I realize that its fucking in the past and done with, and all the montana fans I've encountered on the boards are very inteligent fans.

Brutal hatred over there. I'm looking for another great Thanksgiving weekend game at Washington Griz. I, by default, will be cheering for the Jacks this weekend. Should be a good matchup.
