Mark Stoops is the Front-Runner for Youngstown State Job

Mark Stoops is the brother of Ron Stoops (Oklahoma) and Mike Stoops (Arizona). Mark is making nearly $275,000 as the Defensive Coordinator at Arizona. According to reports locally, he would make about that much as head coach and he is likely going to get between $750,000 and $850,000 to field a coaching staff.

This would be an enormous pick-up for YSU to get a local guy with huge name recognition nationwide. It will help put butts in the seats, get quality local recruits to stay at home instead of going to the MAC, and be a great assistance to put next to the brand new WATTS Center that will be up by this time next season.

If he's like Mike, then get used to illegal substitution penalties, timeouts called for 2 point conversions because no play was ready (even though everyone in the stadium damn well knew a 2-point was in order) and many delay-of-game penalties.
Mike Stoops is a control freak who constantly interferes with the offense, despite having little knowledge of it. Let's hope his kid brother isn't like that.
