Wasn't saying that. My point, as is the case in all debate about Evolution, is that it isn't nearly as solid as many present it to be. Not saying I disagree with my good man Cleets, just that academia have been shown to get very nasty if their fellow peers dissent from the global warm, er evolutionary beliefs.youngterrier wrote:It's not the only theory regarding how life on earth works that has holes in itSeattleGriz wrote:

Is that Mitochondrial Eve? Can't be, for she was around well before Y Chromosomal Adam.Wedgebuster wrote:

Nevermind that when I was in college, this was supposed to be the proof we were all looking for. It was suppose to show exactly when our progenitors lived, but it actually worked out they lived a small 50,000-80,000 years apart.

Most on here know my personal beliefs in Intelligent Design include the fact I don't believe ID will ever be able to prove itself, just poke holes in Evolution. It's a crappy mode of attack, but as stated, academia are not the most accepting of any other theories when Evolution is concerned, so they aren't left with much.

Yes, it has holes but the number of holes is far fewer than in the past and it will have fewer holes in the future. The amount of evidence in support of evolution has only grown over time.SeattleGriz wrote:...and huge holes as well.Chizzang wrote:

I would have to respectfully disagree with you. It is, in my opinion, that the scientific community is finally starting to realize that Evolution has more holes in it now than in the past, due to the advances in science. They now have the data and knowledge to realize some of the assumptions taken before the science could prove or disprove, were just that, assumptions.CitadelGrad wrote:Yes, it has holes but the number of holes is far fewer than in the past and it will have fewer holes in the future. Taken from the article quoted earlier:
Pretty high powered guy to admit there is still no hard evidence connecting micro to macro.Eighty years after "The Origin of Species," evolutionary biologist Theodosius Dobzhansky acknowledged there was still no hard evidence connecting microevolution and macroevolution. Unfortunately, since only microevolution can be observed within a human lifetime, Mr. Dobzhansky wrote, "We are compelled at the present level of knowledge reluctantly to put a sign of equality between the mechanisms of macro- and microevolution, and proceeding on this assumption, to push our investigations as far ahead as this working hypothesis will permit."

There are other examples, and not just this teeny tidbit, like the fact they have no explanation for the Cambrian explosion or there is so little proof of their missing links (transitional species).
