Promiscuous Women Cause Earthquakes, Iran Cleric Says

Women who dress provocatively and tempt people into promiscuity are to blame for earthquakes, a leading Iranian hard-line cleric has apparently said.

The prayer leader, Hojatoleslam Kazim Sadeghi, says women and girls who "don't dress appropriately" spread "promiscuity in society."

"When promiscuity spreads, earthquakes increase," he says in a video posted Monday on YouTube, apparently of him leading Friday prayers in Tehran, Iran, last week.

"There is no way other than taking refuge in religion and adapting ourselves to Islamic behavior," he adds in the video.

Theravada tradition (Buddhism) does not even recognize politics nor respond to it

And The Saffron movement is all post-Lakshmanananda... Hindi in location only and entirely politically based not religious based

Very little terrorism really has a basis on the religion it is labeled with. In otherwords, if most people followed religions as the religion was intended, we would have world-wide peace. Your justification for the Hindu and Buddhist not being associated with these terrorist movements can be said about the Christian and Muslim religions. Once a political group claims to be acting on behalf of a religion, it usually isn't following the intended direction of the original religion. And yes, I don't believe the Vatican is or has following Christianity as it should be followed. I've worked with hundreds of individuals from Indian and Sri Lanka and became friends with most, I'm not an expert, but I do know a little about what's going on there without using WIKI, at least from lunch and after work conversations.
