A 'gimme game' for the griz. TSU isn't even in the top 25 in the coache's poll. A free pass to the second round for the griz. griz vs Cal Poly should be interesting. If the Poly kicker can make anything, Poly will win. If not, the griz get to the semis, but no farther.

Texas State was the only college in the country to possess the name for its athletic teams until the late 20’s, when Montana State University also adopted the mascot.
I don't know if that's actually verifiably true, but that's where the "original Bobcats" label comes from. I also don't know when Ohio U or Quinnipiac adopted their "Bobcat" monikers, either.
Well keep laughing at my Thunderbirds, i still am very impressed with the way the way they closed out the season by nearly upsetting NIU. We have done a complete turnaround this year and i am looking forward to an eventual GWC championship and/or a berth into the Big Sky!!

Agreed. SUU went from the laughing stock two years ago, to a team nobody REALLY wants to play to "pad" their schedule. Congrats to the new coach, and lets hope he keeps it going in the right direction.

I hate the griz, but in the playoffs, im a BIGSKY fan. Do u guys acually think the Montana teddy bears can pull out a CHAMPIONSHIP? Honestly, the team is good, buuuuuuuut they dont seem to be championship caliber. BUT

I don't think they are at a championship level as of the last couple of games but if they get focused and things break right for us then it's possible. The Griz just need to get in that zone where they are playing like a single unit and it could happen. Getting by the first game is a big step in the right direction and it always seems if the Griz can play a great game in the first one then the it sets the table for the next couple. I'd love to spend the money to go to Chattanooga again and get myself some Sticky Fingers Barbecue.

The Griz seem to find ways to win when they REALLY need to, and hopefully that keeps up. If UM beats Texas State, and the winner of the Weber/Cal Poly game, I see them, and my bad ass self, going to Chattanooga!

Could be. I don't think JMU will get to the semis. They'll get by Wofford, but I think Nova will knock them off as they nearly did in the regular season.
Big win by the Grizzlies. I'll admit I was terrified after the first quater, but the TD before halftime deflated Texas St. The TD to start the 3rd basically sealed the deal, by then the griz were warmed up. The defense is for real. They shut the bobcats down after the 1st quarter. Run game looked great, pass game, while disgusting in the first qtr, was adequate the rest of the way.
Got my wife talked into 2nd round playoff tickets, so see ya next weekend.
