Never said anything about all Christians being bad because Hitler was or anything remotely close to that. I was just correcting nativist's belief that Hitler had no religion.

Not sure what Jim Jones has to do with anything.......
Hitler was excommunicated, along with all active members of the Nazi party, by a decree of the German bishops in 1932.

These pictures are also false (as I have proven before). Those are not Catholic churches; those are not Catholic clergy; those are not Catholic ceremonies. The last time this stuff was posted in a discussion like this (by appaholic), he acknowledged after a discussion with me that the websites trying to pass this stuff of as evidence of Catholic complicity with Hitler/Nazis were lying.

You are spreading falsehoods.

What churches are they? Besides, who cares, the catholic church, thanks to the concordat, enjoyed priviledged status in Nazi germany. Similar blood pacts were signed with Mussolini and Franco's Spain. The catholic church only cares about it's wealth and power.

Any reader of this board already understands you no idea what a concordat is; and I'm sure they remember our prior discussions about these (and other) photos. At least appaholic manned up and admitted the photos were not showing Catholic clergy or churches.

In his own words; Bush on Islam
Staff
07/07/2007
More than any other American President, President George Bush has made more comments about Islam than any other president. Here is yet another compilation of the President's quotes on Islam. Add this to your collection when you have to debate Muslims that favor Democrats. What have Democratic administrations ever said?
PRESIDENT BUSH'S QUOTES ON ISLAM

In the President’s Words: Respecting Islam

The United States is a nation dedicated to religious tolerance and freedom, and President Bush has acted to ensure that the world's Muslims know that America appreciates and celebrates the traditions of Islam.

"Here in the United States our Muslim citizens are making many contributions in business, science and law, medicine and education, and in other fields. Muslim members of our Armed Forces and of my administration are serving their fellow Americans with distinction, upholding our nation's ideals of liberty and justice in a world at peace."
Remarks by the President on Eid Al-Fitr
The Islamic Center of Washington, D.C.
December 5, 2002

"Over the past month, Muslims have fasted, taking no food or water during daylight hours, in order to refocus their minds on faith and redirect their hearts to charity. Muslims worldwide have stretched out a hand of mercy to those in need. Charity tables at which the poor can break their fast line the streets of cities and towns. And gifts of food and clothing and money are distributed to ensure that all share in God's abundance. Muslims often invite members of other families to their evening iftar meals, demonstrating a spirit of tolerance."

"Islam is a faith that brings comfort to people. It inspires them to lead lives based on honesty, and justice, and compassion."
Remarks by President George W. Bush on U.S. Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan
Presidential Hall, Dwight David Eisenhower Executive Office Building, Washington, D.C.
October 11, 2002

"All Americans must recognize that the face of terror is not the true faith -- face of Islam. Islam is a faith that brings comfort to a billion people around the world. It's a faith that has made brothers and sisters of every race. It's a faith based upon love, not hate."
President George W. Bush Holds Roundtable with Arab and Muslim-American Leaders
Afghanistan Embassy, Washington, D.C.
September 10, 2002

"If liberty can blossom in the rocky soil of the West Bank and Gaza, it will inspire millions of men and women around the globe who are equally weary of poverty and oppression, equally entitled to the benefits of democratic government. I have a hope for the people of Muslim countries. Your commitments to morality, and learning, and tolerance led to great historical achievements. And those values are alive in the Islamic world today. You have a rich culture, and you share the aspirations of men and women in every culture. Prosperity and freedom and dignity are not just American hopes, or Western hopes. They are universal, human hopes. And even in the violence and turmoil of the Middle East, America believes those hopes have the power to transform lives and nations."

As conservative candidates continue to posture and browbeat their constituents with ideas of passing constitutional amendments that take away rights instead of guarantee them while yelling freedom and liberty at the top of their lungs. Quit acting like the left is the center of hipocracy.

Immediately after these elections, in which the National Socialist Party had emerged as a major force, the bishop of Mainz excommunicated all Catholic members of the party in his diocese, and banned uniformed groups entering churches ((KG 12 and A R 166)). He also gave instructions that party members would not be allowed to take an official part in funerals and other services ((RD 8, 9 and 12)). The other bishops decided to await the annual bishops' Conferences, so as to be able to formulate a united policy. In Rome the Osservatore Romano of October 11th 1930 commented: "Belonging to the National Socialist Party of Hitler is irreconcilable with the Catholic Conscience." In his New Year message, Cardinal Bertram of Breslau condemned extreme nationalism, without specifying the Nazi Party ((KG 13)).

The National Socialist challenge to the Church took a different form to that of the marxist parties. Their anti-religious philosophy and programmes were clearly set out, but Hitler's party was not so specific. Pagan, anti-Catholic and anti-religious books and speeches were explained away by claiming that they were the views of individuals. In this manner the Nazis tried to gain the support of anti-Catholic and anti-religious people, without alienating churchgoers. It was said that Hitler had modified the pagan views which he had set forth in ' Mein Kampf'. The Nazis repeatedly claimed that they were defending Christianity from godless marxism, and could have good relations with the churches provided the clergy kept out of politics.

The hierarchy's annual Conferences were held at Fulda and Freising during February 1931. They endorsed the action of the bishop of Mainz, but said that a distinction should be made between 'Activists' and 'Followers'. This was because some Catholics had voted for the Nazis because of their foreign policy, or in the hope that they would cure the economic situation and reduce unemployment, while not realising the party's long-term pagan aims

And you post crap from some Catholic propaganda site and expect people to buy it. I mean, surely if Hitler and the Nazi's were excommunicated by the Catholic Church........ that would be covered in a legit study of the Third Reich. Right? :? :|

Sky, I know you are young and impressionable. So I'll let you in on a little secret. The website you lifted these photos, and many others like it, just make up lies about the Catholic Church and Hitler -- like the lie that Hitler was never excommunicated when, as leader of the Nazi party, he was obviously excommunicated by the decree of 1931.

One of their more familiar tactics is to take a picture of a person in clerical garb with Hitler, and state that he is a Catholic; or take a picture of Hitler or Nazis at a church service, and claim it is a Catholic Church. Sorry to have to tell you that websites you frequent are notorious for their lies.

Seriously, you are the most naive and easily fooled person on this board.

And you had your head handed to you that day -- and you were the only one who didn't get it. :dunce:

(For those of you who don't remember what Sky is referring to, he -- who doesn't even remember the Soviet Union -- challenged my observation that US interventionist policy in Iran was founded on a fear of Soviet expansion into Iran for purposes of acquiring its oil wealth, and the Soviet Union in fact desired to annex Iran).

BTW, here is the German bishops' 1931 excommunication directive of the active members of the Nazi party. Thus, the frequently stated lie that "Hitler was never excommunicated" is just that -- a lie.
