I can't help but laugh at the teabaggers that think they have accomplished something by doing this.

They've accomplished something. They've made it possible for the Republicans to snatch defeat from the jaws of certain victory this November.

I guess, I hope Castle runs as an indy and wins. Send a nice little FU to the tea party like Joe L did to the Dems.

Well, if you think about it, Fargeaux, they have. They're contributing to the dismantling to the largest institutional barrier to progress in the last 100 years, the smug, backward Republican Party.

BUT,

I make fun of Teabaggers because I am an elitist Liberal holier-than-thou college grad azzhole, but, in private, I admire them. These are the kind of people the forefathers might dig - people putting words into action, the seeming opposite of what has been happening in Washington for at least 45 years.

However, as I said in posts above, they will be exposed during the debates with the drooling and the "ums and ahs" in answer to critical policy questions and will, thus, be overrun by their experienced, elitist Liberal holier-than-thou college grad Democratic foes. People will get a shiver up their spines when it finally dawns on them that they could, with their Tea Bag vote, turn over the keys to the best government ever seen on the planet to disaffected housewives, gun-toting 6th grade educated failed desert ranchers and the Goobers and Gomers of Conk Amerika.

if it was a republican state like Conn is a democratic state then yes he would have a chance... but being a democratic state splitting the vote between two republicans wont help.

I'm very happy that another Rhino bites the dust...good message sent to others.
It will be an up hill battle for her to win in the small brain state that kept voting Biden in over and over.

Those that keep down playing the power of Palin will continue getting kicked in the nuts.

Except that Castle has won statewide elections as a Republican so there must be some Dems that are willing to vote for him.

Once again ANY female Republican gets tagged a "wackjob." Give me a freaking break.

From the title, I was thinking more along the lines of "Division in the Spotlight." (AZ knows what I'm talking about.) But getting pulled out of work for annual training doesn't really fit in the Political Forum....

Right or wrong, it's teabaggers that get tagged as "wackjobs", I don't think her gender has anything to do it.

Chris Matthews on O'Donnel's Victory

Post by native »

O'Donnel may be a deeply flawed candidate, or she may not be quite as flawed as all the smart people here think.

Here is what Chris Matthews thinks:

"How Far Will the Fire Burn?"

...Last night ... I heard progressive glee that [voter] anger was on the verge of burning itself out, that the victory of Christine O'Donnel in Delaware ... was throwing away the election? How could voters in the general election go so far as to elect one of these candidates the angry primary voters have kicked up?

While others were seeing dead people ... I saw the strength of the flames that consumed [Mike Castle] and will consume many others this rapidly progressing election night.

I have waited all my adult life for an election in which voters have the fire to reach up and burn those who have been running the show for decades but I didn't know it would come from the right and the center.

I don't know how far the fire will burn. Based upon last night's returns, I expect it has a long way to go ... it could bring the defeat of people who feel even now they are not endangered. It could produce an election night spectacle of name brand politicians standing in front of stunned supporters saying their careers are kaput.

When people get scared they get angry. They sense a rot at the top and are ready to chop it off.

Are you [incumbents] telling me that I have no choice but to vote for you? Are you saying that I, this little voter out there, dare not take a chance on someone who has not yet let me down, as you have? If that is what you are telling me, that I have no choice, well Mr. Big Stuff, you just have to wait, stay up late on election night, and see what I have done.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/ ... _burn.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Although I do not often agree with him, I admire Chris Matthews' experience, wit, insight and intelligence. In this case, (and whether or not O'Donnel pulls off a miracle), after hearing Matthews' blog, I "felt this thrill go up my leg."

He used to be likable just another Marxist wanna be now.

Chris Coons: 'Bearded Marxist'

fox ^ | 9/16/10 | staff

An article Democrat Chris Coons wrote for his college newspaper may not go over so well in corporation-friendly Delaware, where he already faces an uphill battle for Vice President Joe Biden’s old Senate seat. The title? “Chris Coons: The Making of a Bearded Marxist.” In the article, Coons, then 21 years old and about to graduate from Amherst College, chronicled his transformation from a sheltered, conservative-minded college student who had worked for former GOP Delaware Sen. William Roth and had campaigned for Ronald Reagan in 1980 into a cynical young adult who was distrustful of American power

If you'd like to donate to his opponent here's a link. went from $50 bucks to $1.2 Million yesterday

Coons is another typical political puppet. Got his position and, despite a dip in the economy, immediately hired a bunch of his supporters into +100,000 positions that had not existed before. He is counting on the blue sheep in DE to support him. He will ruin DE's budget.

C'mon Delaware, throw the bums to the curb. ALL of them. We'll rebuild in another couple years.

Here's a thought - what if she actually wins in November? I don't delve in Delaware politics much, I just jump across the border, watch my football team, and then scoot back home. But it's not outside the realm of possibility that she could win this thing. It's not like the state was incredibly enamored with Coons before this - he was running more than 10 pts behind Castle (who I really like - he's always at the Blue Hen games doing the handshaking) - so it's not like he's an exciting choice. And in an election year where Dems are going to get hammered, it's not like the Democratic base is going to be voting in large numbers. The turnout for the Republican primary in Delaware was at a record high, so obviously that voting base is pretty highly interested.

People like to scoff at the Tea Party movement, and hey, that movement's given its foes a lot of reasons to scoff at them. But there's no denying that they are going to win a lot of races in November and get a lot of people into Washington - it wouldn't be all that shocking if they got one more, even with all her baggage. Turbulent election cycles can have some pretty odd results. People calling this particular race a layup could be pretty surprised in the weeks to come.

It's not guarantee... but, it's not likely.

Castle went from double digits down to double digits in front overnight. Big deal, imo.
