Based on last year's SOS, I'd say it'll be Savannah State, Stoneybrook and Marist.

I would also like to see SUU and Weber State rivalry. I don't think WSU are p**sies. I think they are going for two D1-A teams again (Wyoming & Colorado State). I know the thinking is to get them to get used to playing teams that are supposed to be stronger. I would argue that they should schedule a really good OOC team in place of the second D1-A game. Maybe New Hampshire or Villanova, Richmond or something like that (potentially cost prohibitive). But then again playing a D1-A, you get a taste of the overall speed and physicalness, playing in a bigger venue, the motivation of being underdogs, the possibility of an upset and its a hell of a lot easier to shrug off a loss to a D1-A team. SUU should leave that sorry GWC so that the state of Utah can get a real in state in-conference rivalry. I was also reading about the old Big West football conference. Re-starting smaller versions of the football programs at Long Beach State, Cal-State Fullerton and Cal-State Northridge and maybe throw in San Diego State (heard there are huge money problems with FB)throw up a few bare bones style 10,000 seat stadiums maybe dual use for (gulp) soccer and FB. and now you got your self a potentially awesome GWconference. I remember playing Long Beach and Fullerton and Pacific when I was playing in the old WAC. We usually won but I seem to remember a loss to Long Beach way back when.

A pretty tough slate for the Thunderbirds this year but im hoping at least maybe a 1-1 record with the FBS schools (probably not going to happen) but i think they could beat NAU, the Dakotas and possibly UC Davis...got high hopes for next season!
From what I hear, SUU will be coming back to SLO in 2009 to balance the Great West schedule at 2 home and 2 away.

I think I remember you saying that before but since it's Utah I went and edited the original JC and added the hack part in there.

No offense.

Cal Poly:

Home: Northwestern State, South Dakota State, University of South Dakota and Southern Utah.

Away: San Jose State, UC Davis, University of North Dakota, Idaho State (???), Montana and a MAC team.

Still looking for a home game to complete the schedule.

It may be correct due to UXD's being added to the full conference slates this year. This has happened to us before where we have traveled to a conference mate twice in a row to accomodate the addition of a new team in conference.

Albany right now has two unconfirmed dates:

Confirmed is OOC is:

Open at Georgia Southern
Weed 2 at home against UMass

3 home NEC games
4 away NEC games

That leaves 2 OOC games which we were told would be home games. I've heard one more at home against a playoff CAA team and a home game against a Patriot team.

We shall see soon, but we were guaranteed that there would be 6 home games and 5 away which makes up for the 5 away games to start this season.

I agree whole heartedly, i think we have a few more years of an NAU and SUU game. And Weber, for some reason they dont want to play us. Our AD has repeatedly offered to play them but they just dont want to which sucks because i would hope to create a rivalry game so we can get some media attention in Utah. Like "North Vs South" game or something, they just dont want to play us for some reason. I say its because they are P%##@^s but then again who knows :D
Personaly, I believe it is because the last time these two teams met a lot of SUU players were acting immaturely. taunting, bad mouthing, and playing dirty. A southern Utah player runs a kickoff back for a touchdown, dives into the endzone then goes and taunts the Weber State sideline. And for his effort gets tossed out of the game on rout to a 26 to 13 loss at Weber State. Its probably because Weber State doesnt want to play a team that does'nt coach discipline.

I dont know Weber State's full schedule, but here is what I know. its not in order.

It sounds like we are going to play some team from out east on that date in Fargo, at least that is the rumor. So I had to put TBA for now.

Will it be North Dakota possibly? I would think you two would want to start that rivalry again. And Wildcatryan i do remember that but that coach is gone now and hopefully that means we are more disciplined, but i have to say at least we dont have players that tend to try and run over people :D

Our OOC is:

at Iowa
South Dakota

6th home game doesn't look like it is happening so our 11th game might be:

at ??????(super secret perenial playoff competitor) ;)

I would be very excited if we are going to go on the road to go to this team for a home and home.

Nope, both teams have November open dates but that date doesn't work so well with our schedule. We need a home game in September, playing UND in November would have to be the only option left.

I just got this off of eGriz.

The 2009 schedule is as follows:

9/5 - Western State of Colorado
9/12 - @ UC-Davis
9/19 - Portland State
9/26 - @ Northern Arizona
10/3 - bye
10/10 - Cal Poly (Homecoming)
10/17 - Eastern Washington
10/24 - @ Sac State
10/31 - Weber State
11/7 - @ Idaho State
11/14 - Northern Colorado
11/21 - @ Montana State

A few things jump out: We stand a very good chance of LOSING our homecoming game. We HAVE to replace the Western State game.. :( :( .that is just horrible. We have to make TWO trips to Sacramento in the same year!!!

T-Man, you just might see me there this year!

Yeah, thanks for all the help. ;)

That is incredibly early. However, it'll bode well for tailgating, since a four years ago it was frigging FREEZING up there. in 2007 it was gorgeous, however. Early is better. :D :D We can deflate NAU's overinflated ego EARLY this year... :D

I agree AZ, that first game needs to be replaced, and fast.
