More FACTS:

- Liberty is the 4-time defending Big South Champs.
- CCSU is the back-to-back NEC champs.
- Dayton has won the PFL 3 out of the last 4 years!

The only thing SCSU supportors can cite is the MEAC record and multiple LOSSES in the playoffs - that's it!

Teams like Liberty, CCSU, and Dayton have also won multiple conference championships and in addition they actually have some non-conference WINS to show for it. They all have "proven" more than SC State. The MEAC AQ was the only reason you were in the playoffs and the others weren't.

Until someone can dispute the fact that SC State hasn't WON anything of importance outside of the MEAC ever, I will continue to make this point. It doesn't matter that SCSU was the "last team in," many other teams had a better case to make and the committe just ignored the facts.

OK we get it...can we watch the games now

Quick question, are you, the rest of the NEC fans, Liberty fans, PFL fans and who ever else, going to say that their respective team would of won against any of the teams that SC State faces should they advance?
MEAC, last one out turn off the lights.

Ok..can someone please explain all of this to me? Just so I know?

a) what is the MEAC proposing to do instead of participating in the FCS title?
b) when did the SWAC get out of the FCS?

The MEAC is proposing to have its champion play the SWAC champion in lieu of going to the Playoffs.

The SWAC is still technically and FCS conference, but they have refused to send their conference champion to the playoffs and none of the other teams have been included as an at-large, although technically eligible. The SWAC divisional champions play each other in the SWAC Championship game and the SWAC schools make a ton of money off of it (TV contract (NBC I think still) and otherwise).

I guess you're going back to 2006 to find that decent non-conferenc win for CCSU? Or were you counting Bentley or Merrimack?

Dayton's OOC wins? Bob Morris this year is the best win they've had as far back as anyone needs to look... Central State, Duquesne, Fordham, Urbana (also have a loss to them), Wittenburg, Austin Peay, Tiffen, Morehead... stop me if you see a good one in there.

Liberty's biggest win was Ball State. A team that is ranked behind 44 I-AA's this year. Other than that... an 8-3 Lafayette that had two PL losses, a 4-8 YSU... :coffee:

BTW, I think it's funny you calling me an "elitist" for saying SCSt was the same as Liberty. When did the MEAC join the elite?

Ball State might be ranked behind 44 FCS teams this year, but SC State isn't one of them.

Sure is a lot of dick-measuring going on right now...hahahaha...

Personally, I don't know what the fuss is about. I think SCSU is a quality opponent and deserved to be in. I know people like to say (especially the committee) that the past doesn't have a factor in playoff selections, but to be honest...they most certainly do. SCSU has put in some great efforts against App. St. the past 2 years in the 1st round. Their "SOS" was just as weak those two years as it is this year. You can't tell me the committee didn't think about that and factor that in. SCSU has proven the past 2 years that they can be competitive with the best in 1-aa and that's ultimately what the playoffs are all about.

As a GSU fan, I'm much more worried about our game against SCSU this week than a potential matchup with W&M or a rematch with Wofford. As mentioned above, this SCSU team has put a big scare into some good ASU teams the past two years...and the 2010 GSU team isn't as strong as those ASU teams. Just glad this game is in Statesboro!
