Re: Official UNH @ Delaware Game Thread
I have no idea if that was the right call or not. It was shoulder to face mask, but the rules are so vague on this type of thing now that it's hard to say.
Some clarification really needs to be made on the "targeting" rules.

BH & 93 really need to make a call to Ralph and get that argument finished up.bobbythekidd wrote:TV just showed the trophy case for UD and pointed out they have 6 national titles.

The whole rule is bullshit but we've covered that on another thread.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I have no idea if that was the right call or not. It was shoulder to face mask, but the rules are so vague on this type of thing now that it's hard to say.

Refs have no idea how to make that call, that was borderline. He got some helmet but I'm not sure how you defend that play any other way.

93 and I tried to finish that argument once upon a time. Ralph banned us both.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:BH & 93 really need to make a call to Ralph and get that argument finished up.bobbythekidd wrote:TV just showed the trophy case for UD and pointed out they have 6 national titles.

Looked like shoulder to chest to me... it was close, though.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I have no idea if that was the right call or not. It was shoulder to face mask, but the rules are so vague on this type of thing now that it's hard to say.
But, imo, 15 yard personal fouls shouldn't be thrown unless they're blatant and obvious.

You gotta let them play. I don't want to see anyone get hurt, but it's a violent game. Not all hard hits should be illegal.FargoBison wrote:Refs have no idea how to make that call, that was borderline. He got some helmet but I'm not sure how you defend that play any other way.

No doubt and if the dude isn't spearing then it isn't blatant.Skjellyfetti wrote:Looked like shoulder to chest to me... it was close, though.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I have no idea if that was the right call or not. Re: Official UNH @ Delaware Game Thread
I just watched it frame by frame and it's kinda blurry. So I would err on the take MX has, if it isn't obvious don't call it. It looked clean in real speed. It was a right place, right time play.Skjellyfetti wrote:Looked like shoulder to chest to me... it was close, though.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I have no idea if that was the right call or not. Anyone know if a 7-4 team has ever reached the semifinals? Just wondering since all of these quarterfinal games feature a 7-4 team.

It was a crap call the defender was barely moving and he just tried to line pad with ball, which he did. There was no head shot.bobbythekidd wrote:I just watched it frame by frame and it's kinda blurry. So I would err on the take MX has, if it isn't obvious don't call it. It looked clean in real speed. Haven't read the whole thread, so if it wasn't mentioned the refs are from the SoCon. Pretty good crew IMHO other than missing the first h-2-h hit on (IIRC) Nihja White.
