Georgia Southern @ Wofford
I don't know why this thread had to be made on wednesday
GSU fans expect to outnumber Wofford fans. I personally think it will be neutral, Wofford may only average 8k per game but we've only had 5 home games against with sub-par following. Furman and The Citadel were the only teams I can remotely remember not making the opposing stands empty. I predict attendance will be at about 15k, with a pretty neutral following.
As a homer I predict Wofford wins, surprising the FCS world.

The game with no discussion. Looking at the NDSU/EWU thread, I'm not sure that's a bad thing. Field position will be a big deal in this game, so I believe Georgia Southern's superior special teams will be the difference. The Eagles are also on a hot streak, which doesn't hurt.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

I agree with your offensive assessment, but the D-Line and Linebackers are in GSU's favor.

I would say QB is in GSU's favor right now, along with the D Line and Secondary. Woffie has the advantages in LB's.

Secondary-probably GSU

Re: Georgia Southern @ Wofford
I definitely don't agree with QBs. Wofford's QBs have noticeably better efficiency numbers & noticeably better rushing numbers. Mitch Allen averages 4.7 ypc while Jaybo Shaw averages an anemic 2.5.eagleskins wrote:I would say QB is in GSU's favor right now, along with the D Line and Secondary. Re: Georgia Southern @ Wofford
Jaybo is definitely a better passer than Mitch; Mitch is a better runner. DL is about even, Wofford's DL clearly outperformed GSU's OL last time.

Interesting. You have Wofford leading every significant category, yet GSU winning the game.Mvemjsunpx wrote:The game with no discussion. Re: Georgia Southern @ Wofford
and Wofford doesn't return punts, and we don't prefer to punt. Mike Ayers would eliminate kicking from the game of football if he could (which he can, he taught Chuck Norris the roundhouse kick so he can do anything)AZGrizFan wrote:Interesting. Re: Georgia Southern @ Wofford
Your definition of significant must be different than mine. I will also note that my above chart doesn't indicate by how much each team wins a category. This should be a defensive game and punting is important in that scenario; Georgia Southern leads the nation in net punting while Wofford is nothing special. I'm mainly picking GSU because of the hot streak, though.AZGrizFan wrote:Interesting. You have Wofford leading every significant category, yet GSU winning the game.

I like the T'dogs to win at home. I love the GSU Cinderella story, but you guys will be at the top for at least the next two years. Yappers by 7.

Seeing where the last four games between these two teams have been decided by a total of eleven points- and GSU hasn't lost by more than one score this year- that's probably a bit off base.

Question for the Eagle contingent. How has your secondary looked this year?
Reason I ask is that if your safeties bite like that all the time, Devlin is going to have a field day.
