Im here to celebrate NDSUs success on the Grid-Iron. To champion the cause and put a light on the legend that is NDSU BISON FOOTBALL!
Quick question there big baller.
Have you ever been out having a beer or a meal on a Friday before the gameday or before/after the game on Saturday and see someone wearing the gear from the opposing team and walk up to them and say HI and buy them a beer/meal and say good luck tomorrow/good game today?
Or are you the fan that heckles them before, during, after the game?
"What I'm saying is: You might have taken care of your wolf problem, but everyone around town is going to think of you as the crazy son of a bitch who bought land mines to get rid of wolves."
No, I do not heckle the opposing fans. Good sportsmanship and diplomacy are the name of the game home or away.
Footballing is a long tradition. This season will be Minnesota and SDSU. Probably a Fargo game or two but the Fabulous Fargo Dome will be a madhouse. Tough ticket to get Im guessing.
A Gopher win is like an insurance policy for NDSU. Any win over an FBS team, especially Big 10/BCS is a tie breaker in the playoff selection. The parity we saw in the MVFC last season is probably not going anyplace. It could very well come down to the tiebreakers in a tight race.
I think its a must win.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
Ive always had fun at away games. The object is to mingle, meet/greet with the fans. We had a wonderful time at Jack Trice Stadium and the crowd around us during the game was high spirited and friendly.
UNI dome same thing. Lots of fun tailgating, good fans around us.
I like the good tickets. We make the most of them.

Nice dodge. And, coming from you, the bolded part.

Hell, their record for most conference wins is 4
A very impressive record it is too, especially considering the short time it has taken for NDSU to complete the season and post season as the leagues #1 team.
Its easier to get to 7 FCS or counter wins from the higher division than it is to get 7 FCS wins when scheduling non-counters from the lower divisions. When a team does that, schedules lower division OOC games, they are saying the rest of the league is no-good, "we can afford a none counter because we will pick up all our wins in our easy conference schedule." Its arrogant and shows disregard to their conference competition.
NDSU schedules up. Its a recognition that the MVFC is good. You have to have a program of the NDSU caliber to compete. The margin of victory will be small. Tie breakers will be needed. The big FCS quality win over a BCS school is a nice trump card during playoff selection.
This is a must win.

A record of 4 MVFC wins is not impressive. Indiana State got there this year and they have had 2 D1 wins the last 5 years. Hell, I think NDSU is under .500 in MVFC play since they joined the conference.
98% of the time since 1985 UNI is at 4 conference wins by the 5th or 6th conference game...not by the end of the conference season.
UNI and SIU both have 8 conference wins in 1 season since 2007. There are no tie breakers needed other than head to head. UNI will be at the top of the league again this year, and likely won't need a tie break this year either, just like last season.
The only teams that brag about their FBS wins are teams that have accomplished shit outside of those wins.
You are looking at the trees and forgetting to see the forest my young friend.
Its a common mistake.
You are making too much out of a single statistic forgetting what the final outcome was. NDSU finished the season, both regular season and post-season, as the highest ranking MVFC team taking all tie breakers. They finished #1 because of what Im saying not what you're saying.
The NDSU BISON are the #1 team in the MVFC. Its a matter of record. Its all theirs to lose. I hope they dont drop the ball. They are going to have to play every down of every game for the entire 60 minutes. Its all there.

If we only get 4 mvfc wins next year, and beat Minnesota and get farther in the playoffs than any other mvfc team, I'll be happy with that. It would be nice to win the conference to guarantee home games throughout the playoffs, but not the most Important thing. Just have to make into the playoff field, and go from there.
I'll gladly take ndsu's season last year, over what uni did last year. The ultimate goal is to win the national championship. A conference championship would be nice, but I'd rather go farther in the playoffs.
It doesn't matter what round you lose in during the playoffs (NC game probably excluded) because you still lost. Losing in the semi-finals gets you the same consolation prize that Youngstown State had last year.
Be careful what you wish for. The MVFC championship last year = 1st round bow out.

It is usually some statement like we would have won that one too if we hadnt missed that FG, or fumbled or had the INT. These are the tip-offs to the moral victory syndrome (MVS), a plague in this division as unworthy programs try to use them to stand shoulder to shoulder with the real champions.
Here is what I am talking about concerning the MVS. This is not the stuff champions are made of:

MVS is also sometimes known as BSOT in the remoter areas of the American mid-West. Beat the Stuffing Out of Them. Usually heard when a big, slow, clumsy team loses to a smaller, quicker, more athletic opponent.

You'll learn how hollow not winning the conference is if you make the playoffs and don't win the national title. A conference title helps recruiting (or 15 in 25 years) a whole lot more than "WE WENT 4-4 IN THE CONFERENCE AND GOT IN THE PLAYOFFS AND DIDN'T WIN THE NATIONAL TITLE"
not winning the conference and getting to the third round is nice. We learned that.

For now...coming off of a 3 win season anything is nice.
Do it a bunch more times and see how those seasons start to feel.
The fact we have won 15 conference titles in 25 years, been to a NC game, been to multiple semi-finals, and many quarterfinals, but have yet to win a national title gives our fan base pretty good perspective on what it is like to make the playoffs, either way, and not win the title. You'll learn once your been around long enough to understand. The only time a playoff loss is a good season is when your team sucks.

wow! thats a record in futility. I sure dont expect NDSU to waste its opportunities like that! You are an expert at losing in the playoffs arent you? NDSU is 2-1 in the FCS playoffs. Just to put it in perspective NDSU lost the bill fette bowl.

But AZ, you don't matter because you buy beers for fans of other teams.

NDSU is 2-1 all time, playing 660% plus ball in the FCS playoffs. Not bad. If they win the title next year they will be playing 875% playoff football with a trophy. With a win over the Gophers the record against the FBS is 5-3, 625% winning football against the FBS.
