BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
Obviously these players are very important to their teams’ success. So having said that, which team would be completely derailed if they loose their key player?
I allowed 2 picks, mainly so everyone can be a homer and pick their star player. If it’s a player not listed, tell us who it is and why. I voted for Fleming and BLM.

I won't say the name I really WANT to say.
That pretty much leaves me with Mitchell.

I don't think there's anybody more important to their team's success than McGhee. If he goes down, they're a very pedestrian team, espcially since O. Davis was ruled academically ineligible for the season.

That's pretty much what I was thinking......they were exposed some in that regard in the NDSU game.AZGrizFan wrote:I don't think there's anybody more important to their team's success than McGhee. Re: BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
I'd say McGhee first and foremost, and then BLM. Both teams aren't nearly as scary without them.
Granted, EWU without BLM doesn't drop off nearly as far as MSU without McGhee. Safe to say the Cats need him to stay healthy.
I also find it funny that Montana's most "important" player in this list was a guy who only played in 7 games, and didn't really make much of an impact at all.
Don't know whether that's a good sign, or a horrible sign.

Re: BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
Last year EWU had the best RB in the nation, and an awesome defense. No offense to BLM, but what McGhee has to work with isn't quite the same.

Weber's most important player this year will definetely be Mike Hoke, like last year Weber will most likely use different running backs. Mike Hoke is a dual threat QB, the bulk of the offense will be from him.

Re: BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
Unfortunately, I voted for Mcghee. It's a team game and I don't like to think my team is heavily dependent on one player, but...it certainly reduces the threats from our offense if you take him out of the equation. However, I think our depth is better this year, and our back-ups are better for McGhee. I don't think it would hurt us as bad as last year, but I sure hope we don't find out.
BLM would be my second pick. I think they'll do fine without TJ (they did last year when he was out), but losing BLM in addition could cause problems.

I agree. It would definitely hurt alot to lose DM because of who he is but I would guess that there isn't a backup QB in the BSC who got as many reps with the 1's, in spring ball, as Galloway did. He went from huge question mark to very capable backup.

Re: BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
No homer in my voting. I picked Mitchell and McGhee. The dynamics of both EWU and MSU changes big time if either one is out for an extended period of time.
My homer pick, I would not have chosen McCaffrey. For as good as his season was last year, we still have been bitten big time by the injury bug, so much that second and third team players expect to play. My pick would be Kavanaugh, even though I've been hearing great things about Hubel all week. I'm not completely sold on Hubel as a pistol type quarterback, my opinion only and the thought of Hubel coming in if something happens to Kavanaugh scares me. That, of course, may change in time.

Yeah, because everyone on Weber's team is a Mormon. Very intelligent comment. Re: BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
Heck, I'm not even sure everyone at BYU is Mormon. Anyone remember Jim McMahon?
That said, I don't think everyone at Notre Dame is Catholic. And I know for a fact that not everyone at Liberty is Baptist: I got my bachelor's from there and am finishing up my M.A.R. this week at Liberty, and I am unashamedly Pentecostal.

I was being facetious. I know it's a big word for you, just look it up. Are you sure you're supposed to say "suck on this" Kind of risky for a mormon boy yourself. As for the videos, who cares? We won the Tourney while you got your asses handed to you by the Griz in the semi's.WeberAlum02 wrote:Yeah, because everyone on Weber's team is a Mormon. Very intelligent comment. At least Montana deserved to be in the championship, they didnt get the constant gifts, unlike a certain gold and blue team did against NAU, and then to get those same gifts in the championship.
It doesnt happen often, but I felt incrediblly bad for the GRIZ, nobody should have to play 2 teams at the same time.
The Big Sky probably told the refs to make sure the Bears made it to the finals so that they wouldnt lose money.

Re: BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
this will not be popular with eagle fans, but the most important offensive player in the BSC plays for the oakland raiders. while i still think EWU is stacked, losing taiwan jones takes away a big dymanic from EWU. same could be said with MSU and orenzo davis, but davis and jones are hardly the same player. defensive coordinators had to gameplan for ONE player when playing EWU. now that that's gone, i think EWU's offense takes a small step back. don't fret eagle fans, you're still very much playoff bound.(and yes, i'm aware of what happened in december and january, but something tells me you're going to remind me anyway...victor/spoils)
to answer the question directly, denarius mcghee is the leagues most important offensive player. MSU goes as he goes.

Re: BSC Poll: Most important offensive player?
If Jones was that important to EWU, then they wouldn't have won the title because HE WASN'T AROUND FOR THE CHIPPER. BLM makes EWU go, NOT TJ.big_meowski wrote:this will not be popular with eagle fans, but the most important offensive player in the BSC plays for the oakland raiders. while i still think EWU is stacked, losing taiwan jones takes away a big dymanic from EWU. same could be said with MSU and orenzo davis, but davis and jones are hardly the same player. defensive coordinators had to gameplan for ONE player when playing EWU. now that that's gone, i think EWU's offense takes a small step back. don't fret eagle fans, you're still very much playoff bound.(and yes, i'm aware of what happened in december and january, but something tells me you're going to remind me anyway...victor/spoils)

Being a Bears fan you'd know all about that wouldnt you
When a fan from every other fanbse in the BSC other than UNC's and a few fans outside of the BSC along with the TV announcers that called the game all comment on the poor one-sided officiating, you know something is wrong.

Bitter? Me? No,
Weber was'nt robbed a chance for a BSC title, not like NAU or the Griz.
