That's it? Small hands jokes? I know your fanbase are just living fossils at this point, but can you at least keep the smack in this era? Maybe that type of crap passed for smack in 1927, but it's 2011 old man. I mean seriously, is your next comment gonna be about how you disagree with prohibition, or how these new fangled helmets don't compare with the fine protection leather provides?State Line Liquors wrote:FWIW:

'We're Just Happy to Be Here' party featuring perfectly Nair'd and ducktaped gay men and LOTS and LOTS of Cameltoe. Come celebrate our loss to Delaware, rain or $hitstorm! BYO spank paddles! Yeah!

Most have expressed to me that they hope our 2nd and 3rd string are able to get some extended playing time when the score gets out of hand.
At worst, this game represents a chance for our key personnel to get injured playing a no-name opponent. At best, most Monarch fans hope this is a useful tune-up that may help ODU better prepare for its upcoming CAA championship defining game versus Towson in a few weeks.
It's a long week pal. Today it's DeMarco's miniature baby sized child football hands. Tomorrow it's Bobby's questionable resume, inclusive of average results as an assistant coach at Maine, his usage of the name 'Bobby' while considering himself an adult man, and the recorded 'love calls' between him and Rich Radford using ODU issued phones.∞∞∞ wrote:That's it? 63- -14 ODU.
No arguement on the UD OL, but right now an arguement can be made that either Hernandez or Grimes is the best best in the CAA. That said, those 2 with Pierce are probably the top 3.bluehenbillk wrote:Hmmm I can see ODU fans trying to come out on top either way here. Keep in mind, if you talk a big game this week you will be crushed to an equivalent basis afterwards. You're a conference member in league play now, no more Campbell's and little sisters of the poor. If you're going to chirp this week, the excuses of "well it was our 1st CAA game", or "we'll be better in a few years" don't fly.
That being said, yea if ODU was opening against VU they'd win, if they were opening against TU it'd be a good game. However, you're not. UD looked like their old selves on Saturday night - everything clicked.
What I expect? It seems to me that ODU doesn't play defense very well, kinda like the high school slut we all knew, everyone scores. Expect UD to be no different - with the best OL in the country and the best back in the league, if not the country coming right at you.
I've read the amusing, yet informative Rich Radford blogs (who by the way votes in the TSN poll and put ODU at #9 this week ). The "two-headed" running attack ODU has will run into a brick wall early & I expect to see DeMarco putting up 40+ pass attempts.
When it's all said & done it'll be UD by around 3 TD's, will put the official prediction out maybe Wednesday, Monday is always too early for that....
Will be interested to see if ODU travels at all. I was surprised to read that ODU announced another sellout Saturday (19K+) but maybe had 10K actually there. I know it was raining but does that happen often??

Top 3?!? AP's not even the best runner on his own team, let alone the CAA...BDKJMU wrote:No arguement on the UD OL, but right now an arguement can be made that either Hernandez or Grimes is the best best in the CAA. The Hens will spend a great deal of valuable practice time preparing for the tornado of BS that we will be throwing at them.Ivytalk wrote:All two pages of it?CAA Flagship wrote:Wilder just said that although we have not run any onside kicks, fake punts, and things like that this year yet, the full playbook will be making the trip to Newark.
We've all survived the "tornado of BS" that you've thrown at us on this thread, so the Hens can easily survive that.CAA Flagship wrote:The Hens will spend a great deal of valuable practice time preparing for the tornado of BS that we will be throwing at them.Ivytalk wrote: All two pages of it?
Thanks UD, I agree. I started a thread over on the smack thread for that very reason. I believe when this thread first started it was just for fun but I think it has gotten worse since and a little bit out of line.UD1Hens wrote:I'm going to try and bring this back from smack thread material...
I don't see the crowd being much of a factor. Our students get hammered drunk up until kickoff and then blackout in the parking lot. They probably won't make it inside much before the 2nd quarter if at all with the noon start. I know ODU will come out beyond jacked up and ready to roll. The best thing UD can do is get the ball and pound them in the mouth with AP and try and get on the board first. If UD gets ahead it might take some of the wind out of ODU's sail and plant a seed of doubt early. If ODU is within 3-7 (or ahead) after the 3rd quarter you better believe their players will smell it. I don't doubt ODU will pull out the bag of tricks if need be...UD won't. UD reminds me of that line from Remember the Titans, "it's like novocaine, just give it time". They are what they are, nothing too fancy, just need to execute. Our DBs tackled much better last week after two head scratchers the prior week.
UD is probably going to go with Tim Donnelly, the preseason #2, but I don't think they lose too much. Trevor Sasek has a good build and strong arm but unless Tim looks terrible in practice I don't know if they'd go to him coming off two weeks of not playing.
How is ODU looking on the injury front? I know they view this as their coming out party and have recent history of not being disciplined with penalties. As a UD fan I hope their energy causes them to over-pursue or commit those dumb fouls that they've done this year. Let's try and keep this thread about the game on the field and not a pissing contest...there's a smack thread for that.
