Well the baggage they bring Sac State will cost us quite a few satchels full of cash due to increased travel costs.

(This is in response to some particular nauseating posts I see again and again regarding a certain nickname issue.)
In college I/we studied in depth the following:
a--The strategies of tank warfare masterminded by Field General Erwin Rommel also known as The Desert Fox
b--The zealous oratory and anti-Semitism propaganda of Joseph Goebbels Reich Minister of Propaganda and his effects on WWII Europe
c--The Blitz Krieg warfare of Hermann Goring, Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe
d--Guerrilla warfare techniques of Geronimo and Cochise
e--Land warfare and deception strategies of: Red Cloud, Black Elk, Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse
f--Evasive maneuvers by Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce etc. etc. etc.
So, according to some particular individuals who have slanted and twisted logic toward a particular North Dakota University then then those of us who graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point are: Nazi sympathizers and racist hating bigots toward Native Americans. Unreal!

When thinking of this issue, people need to remember that the Univeristy of North Dakota has been attempting to drop the nickname for about two years now.

On the other hand, it is more than a bit ironic that that the very people that the NCAA is claiming to protect from a "hostile and abusive" atmosphere is suing them for being "hostile and abusive" toward them.

Lastly, and most importantly, Lakesbison is a tool who has the equivalent of a North Dakota Secret Service monitoring his daily activities and tapping his telephone due to his obsessive, threatening, and psychotic tendencies......................

I believe UND will move forward without the name and logo as they are bound by various laws and state agencies. However, Spirit Lake vs. NCAA could be very interesting as they are a Sovereign Nation and view all non natives as outsiders. Yes, it will be a long process but fascinating to follow.

That was a reference to Reed Soderstrom, a Minot attorney and one of three lawyers who have volunteered to help the committee fight retirement of the Fighting Sioux name. Soderstrom said at the conclusion of the news conference that he would take questions only from reporters, though he said he would remain and talk to others afterward.

Several tribal members called out questions or comments from the rear of the room at tribal headquarters, where the news conference was held. After one of those, Soderstrom smiled and said, “I welcome the catcalls,” and suggested there were “a few loud people” everywhere.

lakes, it's not like UND is the ONLY school in the BSC that isn't located in a major metro area. Christ on a crutch, SUU, NAU, Cal Poly, EWU, MSU, UM, ISU, UNC & Weber, ALL require some form of bus ride or puddle jumper from a major metro airport. This argument is a non-starter.

Meh, EWU is only 15 minutes from Spokane International, which services just about every major city in the Pacific/Mountain Time zones.

I think UND's location is sort of a legitimate concern for the Cali schools + probably PSU and EWU, but probably not as big of a deal as some make it out to be.

I’d have no qualms over their addition if there was another member added to allow divisions (thus reducing travel costs). God knows what the Sac State AD will have to cut to make up for the added travel until that happens.
