It would be almost as bad as losing to them by avoiding them. With 30,000 expected to this weeks game App will be forced to start making decisions like Montana where the wallet will talk louder than the competition. You want to avoid that but Montana wants at least $450k to net the same as a home game and if App continues to roll their attendance (over 20,000) will make revenue a huge deal which could price some lower FBS teams out (Duke etc)

I think it would be hard to hush it up. Many of these games are booked far ahead and are public knowledge. If it suddenly got dropped from the schedule, how would we not know what happened? We already have an FBS game booked every year until 2011. Most of our fans know the list. They are not a quiet bunch. Just in case anyone wants to know, the Saluki list is:AppGuy04 wrote:Thats the problem putter, these "duckings" are never made public. God, it pisses me off that other teams know this YEARS in advance, and MT struggles every year to fill their schedule.skinny_uncle wrote:I think it would be hard to hush it up. Re: Downside to our win??
Do you really thing Montana actually struggles to fill their schedule or do they just go through the motions of "trying" to schedule more formidable OOC opponents but don't really want to because their first priority is to schedule 3 home OOC games every year and the only realistic way to accomplish that is to play a schedule like this years' most years, and every other year or every third year they play a FBS "money" game like Iowa last year just to stifle those who claim the Griz have a cupcake OOC schedule every year. In other words, is it a struggle or is it by design?AZGrizFan wrote:God, it pisses me off that other teams know this YEARS in advance, and MT struggles every year to fill their schedule.skinny_uncle wrote: I think it would be hard to hush it up.
