Things are getting desperate for them. I think they hold out and try to go Indy for a year or two. Then when they finally realize that nobody will want them, they either cut their football program or maybe join the BSC. Odds of the latter are probably lower than the former.
Disagree with that. I'd almost guarantee that all real Vandal fans and administrators would rather drop down to the BSC than drop football.
I was basing this off of the douchebaggery displayed by the Idalol fans found on the scout.com WAC forum. Obviously that doesn’t represent the path their administration will take. Common sense would say any football fan would at a minimum want to keep their program around; to be honest I find the “stay FBS or die” attitude quite entertaining.

I've been reading those forums as well, but I've only gotten that attitude from a handful of posters. Fuck, you haven't seen entertaining yet. If/when EWU wins this fall, it's going to be a goddamned shit show on that forum. Then again, hell could freeze over and they could all accept that their place is in the Big Sky.

I would love to see a EWU win there. It would be total meltdown on that place if we pull out a win at NMSU.

I forgot that Sac was playing NMSU... the other without a home. Man, that'd be one hilarious two-fer.

Did anyone post his in here yet?
I was thinking it would be logical if the WAC would split into 2 subconferences, North Subdivision and South Subdivision, and the champions of each of the 2 subconferences could meet in the Idaho Potato Bowl.

"It's no secret the Big Sky would love to have the University of Idaho back in the conference, and we've got an opening," said Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Jon Kasper.
Kasper went on to suggest the Vandals could even do so as a non-football member, while keeping their FBS dreams alive as an independent or whatever their future holds.
I’m not trying to burst Idaho’s bubble (and I will welcome them and their fans into the BSC with open arms when it happens) but this is coming from the assistant commissioner for media relations. Has Fullerton hinted at letting UI in as an Oly only member?
I’d love to see two divisions for Oly sports in the BSC. My guess/preference: North
• Montana
• Montana State
• Eastern Washington
• North Dakota
• Idaho
• Idaho State
South
• Sacramento State
• Portland State
• Weber State
• Southern Utah
• Northern Arizona
• Northern Colorado
Anyway you slice it a rivalry will get broken up in the divisions. The hoops scheduling could be 10 inter-division games (1 home, 1 away each team) with 6 cross-division games (each team once, 3 home, 3 away, home/away alternating every other year with each team) for 16 BSC games. Top 8 get a berth into the BSC Tournament.
When Idaho realizes FBS Indy won’t work and they move football back to FCS; keep the rivalry scheduling idea for football but increase it to 3 or 4 rivals and then rotate the rest to fill out the BSC schedule.

BTW SE still impressed with my bullet skills?
Me likey. Although you could also swap PSU with UND and create a Northwest Division and Mountain, Plains, and Cali Division.

For football I would guess that PSU would go to the north division and Cal Poly and Davis to the south???

Fuck that. No way UND should be in the same division as anyone on the West Coast.

I went with an expanded rivalry rotation so the divisions wouldn't change for football. I guess divisions would work but I would like to see PSU in our division if that were to take shape.

[Bleep] that. No way UND should be in the same division as anyone on the West Coast.
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
If Idaho joined, I think the Sky will go to divisions, a mountain/pacific split
Mountain
Idaho
Idaho State
Montana
Montana State
North Dakota
Northern Colorado
Weber State
Pacific
Cal Poly
Eastern Washington
Northern Arizona
Portland State
Sacramento State
Southern Utah
UC Davis
With this setup, most rivalries are still being sustained, and the best part is the Charter members are together
You still have UM/MSU, UM/UI, ISU/UI, WSU/ISU and UNC/UND rivalries in the Mountain division, and you still have the EWU/PSU, UCD/CPSLO/CSUS rivalries, as well as the emerging SUU/NAU rivalry in the Pacific

I still don't see UND staying in the Big SKy for very long. Either they'll get kicked out because of the nickname issue or they'll get invited to the MVFC, where they belong.

And that would be fine with me. Then we could move EWU to the Mountain Division where they belong (from a proximity standpoint) and kick UNC to the curb and have two nice 6-team divisions with a significantly smaller geographic footprint.

Yeah, Montana, Idaho, and even MSU are way bigger rivalry games for us than PSU. Idaho is an hour and a half down the road and Missoula is 3 hours. They're half as far as that next two closest. It wouldn't make any sense at all to not have them in our division.

Makes about as much sense as putting Sac State and Davis in different divisions.
