Liberty isn't a good FCS program....they will (along with UNCC, Ga State, and Texas State) finish at the bottom of the FBS every year.

Out of all of the schools moving up (and likely to move) ASU and ODU have the most likely chance to succeed.

Liberty is not a good FCS program? Tell that to Presby and Prairie View.

Using wins over horrid FCS programs does nothing for your case.

I don't think Texas St will struggle more then say ODU. They've already put together recruiting classes at the top I the WAC, near top of Sun Belt, and middle of CUSA. While they will no doubt take their lumps for the first 5 years or so, they are positioning themselves to not be at the very bottom. I'm not trying to predict winning conference or BCS busting. I just dont see them being at the bottom.

Tell me how a FCS school with FBS wins is a "bad" FCS program, clenz.

Not so much the FBS wins, its the teams you lose to.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Beating bad FBS teams proves nothing. Beating a team that 95% of the FBS can spank week in and week out isn't a accomplishment. ASU knocking off Michigan was an impressive win, since Michigan went on to beat Florida in the Capital One Bowl that year. Liberty beating a 4-8 Ball State team, that only beat Southeast Missouri State (FCS), Central Michigan (3-9, 1 FCS win), Akron (1-11) and Buffalo (2-10, 1 FCS Win). Thats impressive only beating Ball State by 4 two years ago, I just can't wait till they play FBS football so I can bet my life savings on them. Get real, great FCS teams die at the FBS level and struggle to compete. What makes you think a average FCS team playing in a weak conference with no competition can survive in the FBS. I hope Liberty moves up so they are stuck in mediocracy for forever!

And do you want to remind us all how bad LU beat the SeaChickens last year? I agree that LU is not a great or even a very good FBS football team, but they are improving every year. They are a very young school with excellent facilities and have been very competitive at every level their sports programs have ever competed in. You should know that, they have won the BSC Sasser Cup for how many consecutive years now? Haven't they won 4-5 NCAA Division 1 National Championships in track and cross country? Didn't their WBB team finish in the Sweet 16 a few years ago. The golf team has been ranked in the top 30 for the last couple of years, their baseball team is respectable (just ask UNC and Virginia).
If you were a App State fan or similar, I could understand your air of superiority. But as a fellow Big South member, it is laughable.

Just to clear up somethings, Liberty has had a football team since 1973 (D1-AA since1989), Coastal's first team was in 2003. We have played you guys 9 times and Liberty leads the series 5-4. Don't get ahead of yourself, I remember when the Flamers came ranked down to Conway last year and got beat bad too, I really don't care, we are on the same level. Liberty has a bad basketball team, trust me I have seen them play. A bad baseball team, you guys are no where close to us and never will be, the only thing you guys have going for you is women's sports other than football. Well done
Also Liberty has 4 BSC football Championships and Coastal has 4 BSC Football Championships (NOTE THAT ONE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS IS A SHARED ONE, THE SAME YEAR COASTAL BEAT LIBERTY). Also basketball championships 3-2 in favor of Coastall, with Coastal winning the Regular season 6 times, Liberty winning the Regular season ONCE. Coastal has not lost a Big South Baseball Championship in a long time, clinched our SIXTH straight regular season crown today.

Liberty looks so appealing compared to mediocre Coastal Carolina.

I don't know why I'm even wasting my time, but here goes...

Football
Series 5-4 Liberty (4-1 in last 5)
4 championships each - don't leave out the fact that you all had a shared championship as well
Coastal 2 playoff appearances - Liberty 0 - congrats, the only thing you have on us in football
average attendance - Liberty 16,419 Coastal - 8,365
capacity - Liberty 19,200 (will be 25,000 next season and 35,000 in near future) Coastal 9,102
Liberty hoping for FBS, Coastal hoping for Socon

Basketball
Series 25-22 Liberty
Conference 'ships 3-2 Coastal

Baseball
you dominate this sport, no questions asked

Golf
Liberty has won the last 2 championships, and are ranked in the top 30, will be competing at the national tournament next week
Liberty has surpassed Coastal in their dominance in this sport

T&F/CC
We have won so many conference championships I can't even keep up.
15 consecutive indoor men's T&F titles
17 outdoor men's T&F titles (we have won every year except for 2 since 1994)
10 women indoor T&F titles
12 women outdoor T&F titles
13 men's CC titles (7 consecutive)
7 women's CC titles
Liberty has multiple national championship titles, I think 5
Coastal?

Sasser Cup
Liberty is about to win their 5th consecutive
Liberty 10 total, Coastal 9
Since 1998, Liberty has won it 10 times, Coastal 5

Liberty's facilities >>>> Coastal's
Liberty's money >>>> Coastal's
Liberty's fan support >>>> Coastal's
Liberty's on the field performance >>>>Coastal's
