You have to assume - and most people will never know the full story - that there were other factors involved in his expulsion. Could they have had something to do with the rape allegation? Could be. Maybe he lied, covered up, etc when questioned about it. Maybe he's a liar and cheat in school. Maybe he forgot to go to classes last semester. I don't know, and neither do you. But its almost assuredly not solely based on the rape allegation.
This is what I'm hoping is the case, because the alternative is much stupider & has much worse consequences. Still, people in authority that aren't used to feeling big public pressure often do moronic things when it hits them.
I doubt it would be something academic, though. I figure a rumor to that effect would have cropped up on eGriz. I mean, every rumor—no matter how insane—shows up on eGriz.
A couple of egriz posters are claiming they'd heard wind of this possibly happening long before the rape allegations came out.

While I can appreciate your efforts to give the U some credit, from what I have been reading on eGriz, and that doesn't mean crap, but it is the only information I can gather, the U IS going full knee jerk on this.
The institute of higher education, and my alma matter is packed to the gills with self hating liberals. The U is going to regret this in my opinion. I believe Engstrom is going to look very bad when this is all said and done.

It's not all self-hate, sg, they hate your guns and religion too, and they laugh at your grammar behind your back.

Yeah, I guess anything's possible. But that's the point too. Everyone, including Phlugrad in his infamous Jordan Johnson morality speach, want to speak up and stand up for JJ because he's such a great guy. Could be, but 99.999% of the people speaking up for him don't know him beyond seeing him play ball or having a class with him at UM. People you actually do know are often capable of things you would never dream of. I have/had who I considered a friend - knew the man for close to 10 years. Kids are friends, been to his house, he's spent time at mine, etc, etc. I'd vouched for him after he got a job in an area around my work. Totally violated my trust by doing something incredibly stupid - and illegal - and getting fired. Point is, you don't know people as well as you may think.
On the other hand, I guess its not beyond the realm of possibility that Engrstom and crew are going full retard on this whole thing. I just think its much less likely they're freaking out and making stupid, knee-jerk decisions than it is that JJ did/said something else leading to this.
I know as a Cat fan this is going to sound crass - its honestly not meant that way, cause this whole business is a tradgedy for UM and many students over there, and its beyoond a footbal rivalry. But I sincerely hope JJ screwed up badly and got himself expelled, and that its not the U officials digging a deeper hole.

I have said it before. I consider myself lucky to make ANY sense when posting, grammar included.

How can I be butthurt when I openly expressed when he came to UM that Johnson wouldn't amount to much of anything here? Over-hyped high school player.
Well you were wrong about that too. JJ was a good QB and he leaves a big hole to be filled. If he was an over-hype high school QB no way te Griz make the semi-finals last year.

The Griz will find someone better to fill his spot, guaranteed. Always thought Kemp would be better at QB. And McKinney looked sharp as hell all spring.

Not saying they won't, just saying JJ is a big loss.

All your QBs looked good in the spring facing a very green D.

I didn't think Mckinney has much arm strength mid to long. I have always liked Kemp as a Wildcat guy or an option type guy, but not at all as a go to QB that we (MT) would use as an all around QB.

You are absolutely right, he is a big loss.

Typical Knuckle-dragging, douche-bag fan response by Willie on display. Well done.
Everyone: Pretty much your whole football team has been accused of RAPE. Your coaching staff has been fired, and your QB has been expelled.
