LSU dismissed the Honey Badger today after a 3rd failed drug test supposedly.

I gotta think most teams won't touch him, but he'd fit right in at JMU with his MJ addiction....
The SWAC could use him!?!?!?!

You can Google "Tyran Mathieu McNeese" and see a bunch of hits on it. I Googled it because I heard it on local Baton Rouge radio while I was driving to go fishing this afternoon.

We'll see.

I find it odd how it always seems like many people will judge a kid more harshly for smoking a little pot or something than they do for kids who have assaulted or raped or stolen or had DUI's or alchol-related offenses.

Agreed your a bad boy if you smoke pot but if you rape a female it's slap on the wrist time.

Sure. Anybody could. I'm just saying that the "buzz" right now is about him looking at McNeese State. My guess is he's interested in McNeese State but that doesn't mean it'll work out. He may change his mind after talking to the coaches and the coaches may opt not to take him. As of yesterday afternoon Viator said he didn't even know why Mathieu got dismissed from LSU's team. Plus McNeese has only taken two "discipline" type SEC transfers before and neither one worked out well. Cecil Collins ended up getting popped on a drug test after two games and that was it. Jantzen Jackson played one season and declared for the NFL. My understanding is that he hurt McNeese's APR score. Neither one got into the starting lineup. Both probably WOULD have if they'd have stayed around long enough to learn the systems but neither one did.

Me, I hope that if they have a chance to take him they take him. Some other McNeese fans feel otherwise.

On the pot smoking thing: I think pot ought to be legal. I don't think it's immoral or bad in and of itself. It's something people in a supposedly free country should be free to do.

But you have to worry about depending on somebody if they persist in doing it even though it could potentially cost them a career worth tens of millions of dollars. If it happens once and they get a second shot then it happens again you have to worry about their ability to discipline themselves and maintain control. Obviously, if that's what he did, he'd been through a similar incident before and knew he'd be toast if he got caught doing something like that again. So there's no real reason to be confident that he wouldn't do it again if he transfers to another school.

As I said, if it IS that he smoked pot I'd go ahead and take the shot. If I were a head coach in my own mind I'd be thinking I don't give a sh*t if he smokes pot. I'd just be hoping he doesn't get caught. Of course I wouldn't say that publicly. I'd take the chance fully expecting that he's going to smoke pot again if that's what it was. But I'd hope he'd get through his two years on the team before he got nailed again. And if he does get nailed before he's done then you really haven't lost much anyway. Maybe an APR hit.

This recent report expresses the belief that he is considering McNeese State but also considering Jackson State and Prairie View. Said he is not considering Southern because he wants to get out of Baton Rouge.

I guess if he's considering Jackson State and Prairie View it wouldn't be a shock to see him consider Grambling as well.

Quote from McNeese State's Matt Viator from the story at

http://espn.go.com/college-football/sto ... ate-source" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; :
Mathieu did visit McNeese State on Friday night, Cowboys coach Matt Viator told GeauxNation's Gary Laney. However, Mathieu left without a commitment.

"It's very important for both us and Tyrann to make the right decision and Tyrann agreed," Viator said. "It was a long day. We both needed to back off a bit and make the best decision. Especially him. He needs to catch his breath and make sure he makes the right decision."
And from Prairie View:
"Prairie View A&M is honored to be mentioned in the running for a student-athlete of Mathieu's caliber due to some connections our program and university has with him," the school said in a statement. "As of this time, Mathieu has not met with head coach Heishma Northern in regards to joining our football program but we would be interested once we receive the proper clearance and paperwork needed to talk with him in-depth."

The prison system, alcohol companies, and paper industry would lose out on a lot of money by legalizing weed, thus they throw huge amounts of money to lobby and keep it illegal. If weed were illegal because it's dangerous, then cigarettes and alcohol would both be illegal too.

Where is your evidence that prison systems, alcohol companies and the (eh?) paper companies are using lots of money to lobby against the legalization of marijuana?

Tobacco doesn't compete with alcohol, and for the most part, our prisons will still be quite full without the potheads (since you have traffic in significant amounts to find yourself actually in prison for it- versus in the county lockup). So your assertion doesn't compute.

I would like to read your sources.

I've seen people say that if it was a drug problem, and he was deemed "ineligible" at LSU, that he couldn't transfer to an FCS program, yet he could still transfer to a "HBCU".

Why would that be? Are HBCU's not governed by the NCAA rules?

Did anyone use the word "convicted"?

Using your logic, up until his conviction, and heck, he probably has some appeals left that could set him free, Sandusky was/is just an innocent victim of a smear campaign.

Are you really this fucking stupid? Comparing two college kids having consensual sex (according to Jordan) to a man that was caught in the act sexually abusing children...nice job! Have you read the motion to dismiss in the JJ case, didn't think so...two sides to this story, dipshit!

I suggest you and Dumbfuck U go read the motion to dismiss if you think the two cases have anything in common, other than taking place on the same planet.
