considering they aren't even 20 games back NOW after how bad the first 3/4 of the season went, you have little justification for saying they will be 20 games back next year. And again with the age thing, how old are the yankees and look at where they are.

I can easily see the Nationals finishing ahead of the Phillies next year, they may be the better team now. But I think the Phillies will still win more than 85 games. I don't see the Nats winning 105, or more.

They have the best record, but they sat their best pitcher for the rest of the year. Right now, without Strasburg, I don't think they are the best team.

Also, let me know when they win something meaningful. The Phillies were the best team last year, they lasted 5 games into the post season.

And what about the bet? You said Nats would finish 20 games up the the Phils next year. Lots of people want that action, but you've become quiet on the subject.

I'm calling it now: the Phils will not win the NL East this year, and they may even miss the playoffs.

Watch out for the Nats how? They're not going to finish ahead of the Phils so what am I supposed to watch? I have a hard time taking a team too seriously that says before the season they're limiting their "franchise pitcher" to 160IP this year & then he's done no matter what team implications it may have.

Well, it's been downhill since we let Davey Lopes go so the move makes sense. Of course, with a lineup that at times struggles to even get to first base you have to wonder on the value of the first base coach.

In reality it's probably setting up a move to make Ryne Sandberg the highest-paid coach (non-manager) in MLB. He'll be the Phils skipper in '14 unless Chollie screws up things in '13.
