For Geeks Only = FCS Stats

Post by Keeper »

Hello, everyone.

Anxiously awaiting kickoff weekend.
Meantime, here is my annual compilation page of Starters & Stats lost for each team
from 2012 info. If you like to crunch the numbers, then y'all knock yerself out.

http://home.comcast.net/~keepersfootbal ... gstats.htm :geek:

Feel free to respond should anyone find any glaring errors, as a number of teams have
not yet released an official 2013 roster.

One should take this with a grain of salt. While NDSU will definitely be in the conversation this season, I highly doubt #1 (in THIS tabulation, anyway) Butler will make the playoffs. #13 Sac State MIGHT, but it'll be mighty dicey at best. Conversely, Stony Brook is ranked rather low at #113, yet I suspect that their path to the playoffs will not be impeded very much. Same for Wofford at #103.

Pardon moi for not properly explaining the ranking.

This is not a power rating or overall ranking of teams, or a prediction poll.

This is a listing of amount of personnel lost from 2012 via graduation, dismissals, etc.
The ranking is based on combined losses of ten categories shown.

Butler U lost the fewest players. Stony Brook lost much more than average, but should be okay
again, especially with incoming transfers. Lehigh has the severest loss of number of starters and
players overall, but should contend again.

Simply stated, this is a handy comparison of which teams lost (or have returning if you will)
the most players, statistically speaking.

Alas, it's not easy being a geek.

Hold the salt, I warned that only geeks would probably assimilate the reference.

Can you read before you post a critical response? The guy explained it pretty well in the first sentence of the website.
The annual KCFR compilation…..the only one of its kind, a quick reference of team performance lost via notation of departed player statistics. The survey includes stats of players who are known suspended for the 2013 season or out...

DF:

Unless one is completely horrible (a la Pioneer), "improvement" generally means at least making noise for the playoffs (or pushing for a seed if coming off a playoff berth) and "regression" generally means backing up from a seed if coming off that or losing a playoff berth.

That's pretty much the point I was trying to make.
