Surprised to hear that. Didn't the NEC have a limit of 36? If so that would be +18. The CAA Preview shows Albany with 10 senior starters last season. Wouldn't they all have been on scholly? That would mean having to add 28 schollies. I didn't think Div I can add more than 24 in a season, so obviously I am missing something. How did Albany get up to 54 schollys in one offseason?
NEC limit was 38 last year, but I'm pretty sure we only had 36. Until this year there were only 2 or 3 players on full scholarship. All the rest of the scholarships were partials.
Never heard of the 24 scholarship limit.
They didn't add 28 new full scholarship players. They did give some money to kids that have been here on partial scholarships to get them up to full rides.
Actually I was wrong by 1, and was wrong about the that limit applying to I-AA. The limit is 25, and that's only for I-A. The limit is 30 for I-AA. Also I-A 85 means 85. Can't split schollies. I-AA can split 63 into up to 85.
