Anyone else having problems accessing TSN?
Tried from three locations over past week...pings showing active, just no response.
Wonder if they've blocked me.

Laughable. Chuck South ranked, Coastal in the top 6 and had to go to double OT for Liberty to beat themselves? Chuck South couldn't beat any team that received one vote. I guess you can pad your ranking by playing a very weak schedule. How can you take these polls seriously?

2-6 Stony Brook getting votes.. LOL. Portland State also getting votes. I just don't understand how SDSU, at 5-4, is in the top 25.. just astounding. At least Villanova, with four losses, has played a tough schedule.

Re: TSN Poll 27 Oct 2013
I would definitely favor Southeastern Louisiana to beat 24, 23, 22, 19, 18, 13, 9, and 6 on a neutral field. And yes I know 19 beat Southeastern Louisiana but that was because of 6 Southeastern Louisiana turnovers. . Most of the time that's not going to happen.
Also I wouldn't think it a surprise if Southeastern Louisiana beat most of the other teams in the poll. Like if they beat McNeese State this week, for example. I HOPE that doesn't happen. But it would not be a surprise at all. To me the TSN poll not having Southeastern Louisiana in the poll prior to this week and having them barely in this week means whoever votes in that poll hasn't been paying attention.

I can understand not giving SELA love. Haven't defeated a good team, except Samford, lost big to a poor TCU team, lost big to an average SDSU team. The next three weeks will go a long ways in determining if they're legit or just beat up on weak teams.

Re: TSN Poll 27 Oct 2013
TCU is not a "poor" team, even by FBS standards, regardless of their record ... we played toe-to-toe with them for a half and part of the third quarter. I'd venture to say 90% of FCS schools would have had a similar, or worse, outcome.MrTitleist wrote:I can understand not giving SELA love. And not sure what game you watched (or didn't), but we didn't "lose big" to SDSU. We dominated them for three quarters, not to mention statistically, but turned it over six times and had 12 penalties, to their zero turnovers and four penalties. That's the point John was trying to make. They never stopped us, and if we don't beat ourselves, that game is over by the third quarter in our favor. Then we rebound the next week and beat Samford on the road, without our starting QB.
But you're right, the next three weeks will tell the tale.

Re: TSN Poll 27 Oct 2013
Who the heck is giving us votes? EWU stole our Pac-12 Killaz title, and even if we HAD defended it, the way we've played the rest of this season, it probably would have looked like the last TWO seasons, in which case we'd be WAY beyond having that win help us.
Unless we win out (highly unlikely, BTW), no votes for Sac. Heck, given our schedule, no votes for us even if we DO win out, because even at 7-1 BSC and second place, we're not getting in. We'd be like fourth or fifth choice with EWU and the Montanas in front (as far as national rankings go). Until we set precedent by getting the auto-bid (definitely NOT happening THIS year), we're not likely to get an at-large, so there's no call to even give us poll votes....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: TSN Poll 27 Oct 2013
Southeastern Louisiana lost to South Dakota State by 8 points (34-26). That, to me, is a not a case in which they "lost big." They had 506 total yards to South Dakota State's 345. But they were -5 in the giveaway takeaway stat.MrTitleist wrote:I can understand not giving SELA love. If two teams play and one is -5 in the giveaway/takeaway stat but loses by only 8 points you would be wise to bet on the loser of the first game if the two teams play again. Not an absolute by any means. But if two teams are equal and one turns the ball over five times more often than the other that usually means the one that did that is going to lose by a lot more than 8 points.

SCSU lost by a touchdown to #6 CCU. A game that was tied going into the 4th Quarter, they played CCU very well.89Hen wrote:SCSt is 4-3 vs DI having beaten nobody. They are not a top 25 team.dal4018 wrote:South Carolina St gave Bethune Cookman all they could handle.
They lost to Clemson who was ranked #4 at the time in FBS. SCSU faired better than Wake Forest playing against Clemson, and quite frankly one of the better FCS outings against FBS ranked teams this year.
They lost to BCU, who is playing very good ball this year. They held SCSU to 3 points? BCU's defense is real this year with their first string out, NO ONE is scoring touchdowns on them. Except Florida State.
