I'm heard about this and I'm not getting the controversy. The ethnic Jews are Caucasian. Absolutely no doubt about that. Jesus was an ethnic Jew. And saying Jesus was of "Middle Eastern decent" doesn't change that. The "typical" person of Middle Eastern descent is Caucasian.
Then there's Santa Clause. "St. Nick" was CERTAINLY Caucasian.

I'm just not getting the big deal about this.

First, The current Arab's who reside throughout the Middle East invaded from Turkey around 300 A.D. So no Jesus was not a White Man. It is well known that the people who lived in the middle east before the Arab take over look like Africans who live in current Ethiopia and Somalia. Since the Arabs took over the region, they inter mixed with the local population. However, DNA test has proved that they share the same DNA Marker as some East Africans.

Secondly, The "Ethnic Jew" Question. Its hard to say what the Original Jews looked like. Not all Ethnic Jews are white. You have Ethnic Jews who live in Africa(Ethiopia Egypt,and South Africa) DNA test has proved this true. You also have Ethnic Jews who live in Iraq, Iran, India and in a small community in western China. All have been DNA tested. So its hard to say how anyone looked like 2000 years ago. If I were to guess what Jesus looked like he would have looked like an offspring from a East African and a Arab. But then again thats just my guess. But Jesus did not look like anything that we see today. He did not have Blue eyes.
