If I ever did I didn't know about it. Like most I took pretty many showers in locker room type environments when I was young. Back then, of course, if someone was homosexual they sure as heck weren't going to tell everybody about it. And if I did ever shower in those environments with male homosexuals present I'm pretty sure I was more comfortable and relaxed by virtue of not knowing about it.

You know there's a reason why we have always had separate facilities for males and females and to a large extent it has to do with sex. There are privacy issues that are complicated by homosexuals being involved.

I am more "enlightened" on this subject than the overwhelming majority of the people who run along with the herd on this issue because they've been told that's what enlightened people think. My education is in biology (and statistics) and I have been a professional biologist during my career. I understand the scientific method. I know the rules with respect to what it takes to infer something. I have also made an effort to research this issue. I've researched the origin of the American Psychiatric Association's decision to remove homosexuality from its list of psychiatric disorders, I identified what appears to be the seminal research paper basically establishing the rationale for that decision and read it, I read other research papers on the subject over the years, and I read the book that appears to be the Bible of the "homosexuality is normal because it occurs in animals" movement. I contacted a population biologist who disagreed with that Bible via e mail and got his thoughts on the subject. And I've actually read the arguments of people in the psychiatric and psychological field who disagree with the decision to take homosexuality off the list of psychiatric disorders instead of just dismissing their arguments because they disagree with the "mainstream" view.

I am obviously not the most informed person in the world on the issue, but I am also much more informed with respect to it and have a much better understanding of how we got to where we are now than way more than 99 percent of the population. Everybody is ignorant to some point. If you don't know everything you are ignorant and nobody knows everything. But I am far less ignorant with respect to the issue of homosexuality in our species than most of the people including most people who call me "ignorant" when I say the things I do on the subject.

And I"m not talking about you per se. I'm sure it won't surprise you to read that I've been called "ignorant" while in discussions on this topic many times before. I frankly think calling people who disagree with them "ignorant" is kind of a standard tactic of the liberal/progressive movement. And that's true whether you personally are a liberal/progressive or not. You start challenging liberal/progressive positions and there's a pretty good chance that the "ignorant" assertion is going to come out pretty quickly.

And the ironic thing is that, usually if not always, the person calling me "ignorant" is way more ignorant with respect to the topic at hand than I am. All they usually really know is that the "accepted" view is the one they're promoting. They're just going along doing what they think makes them look "educated" and sophisticated. Lemmings.
