The Patriots have traded two of their third rounds picks for second rounders next year,,... nice. Also they are getting some very good players.

Round 3 - Pick 5dgreco wrote:2 FCS kids go in the 3rd round today.
Jason Williams LB 6'3 235 Western Illinois
Analysis: The Cowboys also waited until the third round to make their first pick and nabbed the explosive Williams. We thought Williams was ideally suited for a 4-3 scheme, but he can run, jump and rush the passer. He will fill a role either inside or outside in the Cowboys' 3-4 scheme, but think he is best suited to play rush linebacker.
Round 3 - Pick 9
Derek Cox CB 6'0 180 William & Mary
Analysis: The Jaguars aggressively moved up to get one of the most talented small school guys in the draft. Jacksonville needed to find a potential starter at corner and I think Cox has the skill set, but he may need some time to develop
Round 3 - Pick 24
Lardarius Webb CB 5'10 179 Nicholls St.

Re: Official 2009 CS.Com NFL Draft Game Thread
Falcons are Loving the FCS defensive players.
Drafted DE Sidbury out of Richmond in the 4th round with the 125th pick and then CB William Middleton out of Furman in the 5th round with the 138th pick.
After the Gonzalez acquisition, the Falcons have been focusing on the defense... and seem to have put together a really good defensive draft class.

Rhett Bomar is headed to the Giants.
Re: Official 2009 CS.Com NFL Draft Game Thread
Welcome to the bench Rhett Bomar... think he'll be riding the third spot on the pine right behind David Carr.
Giants take him in the 5th round with the 151st pick.

I figured the Texans would take him since they need a backup and he from the area.JMU DJ wrote:Welcome to the bench Rhett Bomar... think he'll be riding the third spot on the pine right behind David Carr.

quite a few FCS kids have gone in the later rounds. Also, its cool to see Monmouth have their TE drafted by Miami.
